It just gets the speakers up in the air where they can put more volume near where you are actually hearing it.

Then you'd only need a 1x12!

I was thinking about making a vertical 4x12 for this reason, then I was thinking about making a 4x12 with a storage space on the bottom. Then I thought maybe just build a road case for the head and just stack it. One of these days I will let myself do something impractical, just because it looks cool. Someday.

if there is enough interest I wouldn't mind doing some nice stacked 412's that would sound great. I have a Kustom column speaker and while it's nice and all I really think it should've been a bit wider/taller to allow for more air space in it.
I worked more on the cab today, sealed up all the cracked with some chalk and cut out the baffle and sanded it and the back piece to fit them in place. I'll probably go on and get it all sanded down, work on the front piece like I was talking about and get basically get it all ready for staining.

Ron ripper uses Bergantino cabs (a 6x10 and 2x15) in a similar tuning so maybe we just need to find the right 2x15 cab design.
How bout this skip,

Surely they meant a 2 x 18 cab. Maybe their 1 key is busted?

Hey, whatever pays the bills. There was a guy who wanted me to build him a cab for just a tweeter horn. Didn't end up pulling the trigger. Which is unfortunate, because I could have made it from drop off scrap out in the shop lol.

"Wanna know the reason they're called "Earthquake"? Well, the ORIGINAL models of this series were custom-made for Irwin Allen, for the MOVIE "Earthquake". Yes, these were the ORIGINAL "Surround" subs. They would send a "sound system package" out to theaters that would promote the "Surround" system... hence, they became known as the "Earthquake speakers". Early models were EVEN BIGGER, and were hence, pretty hard to move... so, CV came out with the "Portable Earthquake", with a very slightly down-sized box with built in wheels...
An original Earthquake with a 189SW in it was potentially a structural and injury hazard to anything or anyone around it...

no he means a 2 8 cab or 2 6 cause he has to measure the speakers he has. He basically makes me to make a cab for what I'm guessing is car speakers but he says they have peavey on them. i said just bring them to me so I can figure it out.

hahaha no doubt. that's pretty much what I can do with this build. I have a piece of birch while by itself isn't big enough to do shit with but is big enough to be a baffle for this.

not really a cab build but I have fantastic news. V4s and V2s have 10k ohm power amp out on them. . .
that means I can run an 810 with my V4 > poweramp out > cheapdick crossover > superbass to power v30s and greenbacks for above 120 hz and carvin B2000 to power like 4 18s for 120 hz and down.
fuck ya. bass rig from well, phoenix az.
