So, do we pretend that the board and powersupply are free?

If I'm pulling a budget and cutting the amount of pedals down, I have no need for the board itself...and mine leaves me with enough money to buy another one spot

I think getting as many cheap pedals as possible isn't the right way, getting fewer better ones is much better imo, in a real situation you will get used for sure so here it is (including everything): wooden plank (free), TS9 (~70$), Carbon Copy (~90$), MXR Distortion 3 (~65$), daisy chain and patch cables in the rest.

Boss PS-5 -> MXR Blue Box -> RAT, which is my board more or less so I don't need to replace/omit a whole lot actually (only differences is added DOD Death Metal and Sunmachine Fuzz O))) instead of the RAT). All the other stuff is for playing around

Yeah actually, that on its own is tones for days. You got all the basics covered there. Limiting yourself for creative expression.

The assumption is you've stolen those.

Pedals tied to an oven rack and 9 volts stolen from every smoke detector in the house.

Let's see...that works out to 21 individual effects for 250. Not going to fly.
Looks like a job for a multi-effects unit

This is not worth it's own thread probably and fits in here
I have a dd20 (my second) and an eqd disaster transport sr and I probably need to get rid of one of them
Sound wise there isn't a hugeeee difference, but the dt sounds a bit fuller and more 'lush'
Features, the dd20 wins versatility wise and its obviously way cheaper so flipping it will generate me way less cash for other pedals
But the dd20 doesn't inspire me anywhere near as much
With is dumb
Any one else have thoughts? I'm sort of just thinking out loud
My <$250 pedalboard would probably be
Ssbs mini -> m5
Made me think about how much money I have in my pedals

^ Keep whatever inspires you to play the most, I'd say. A lot of pedals I find I'm able to replicate with more versatile pedals but there's always a couple that are just special (to me, the Boss RV-3 is probably the best example of this).
ss/bs Mini -> M5 is an awesome combo. I'd have to say that's what I would pick too, although I doubt I'll ever manage with a setup anywhere near that simple

Exactly, keep the one that's inspiring you dude, you'll always regret selling it afterwards, until you find something else that inspires you offcourse.

Digitech Synth Wah
Digitech Death Metal
Fuzzhugger Arc Flash
Boss BF-2
Ibanez DE-7
Should be able to score that for under $250. It would cover a lot of the sounds on my gig board. In fact, that's a pretty rad board regardless of price...
