Yeah, this. Plus, I never consider my boards to be anything special anymore. But, that kinda makes the workhorse category perfect for me. I think one reason why I never do well in BILF is because my boards are basically set, and I'm not willing to tear them apart and make a ringer/all-star board of my best/most prestigious/expensive pedals just for the contest. Agreed. That's always been my hangup with pedal board beauty contests...one man's tools may not be as pretty or expensive or nicely laid out as others.
