dood. it's not FUN. gimme all the shitty low quality horribly acted violence awfullness... as long as it's FUN.

the first Machete was okay... until they had every single white person be a Hispanic hating redneck. they fucking had a border patrolling honky shoot a pregnant Messican grrL in the baby because she was illegally crossing the border. that kind of shit has to be done super well when it's such a touchy subject. that shit was offensive.

this one was just boring. the 2 things that were kinda interesting they ripped off from Japanese films. stupid, boring movie.

and Robert Rodrigues kind of.... sucks. he's not that good. Planet Terror was a'ight. Dusk Till Dawn was sort of good for the the first half. Sin City was awesome, but the fuck did he actually do? the books are straight up storyboards. all he did was faithfully copy them. Desperado was okay, doesn't hold up well. and the second was..... ehnnnn. a few cool scenes? but silly bad.

Spy Kids? are those good? never watched them.

Rob-Rod is good for his methodology. I'm not a huge fan of his movies.

Machete is solid, though. Don't agree on the offensive bit, but different horses for different courses.

lol. every. single. thread i post on, i feel like an ass. 'cause it ends up in either Movie Talk or Bash Shitty EHX. my bad.

hurm. i dunno. the first one every time i started to get into the silliness they would start talking about how much America and especially whitey hates Mexico and Hispanicans. time and place Roddy. after someone uses a guy's large intestine as a fast rope exit bungee jumping out a two story window, you're not really doing a movie to tackle delicate issues.

...... i love Danny Trejo, have since he was just the awesome guy that always took his shirt off to show his huge Sombrero Layday tat and me and my brother called Snake 'cause no one knew who he was and damnit he sure LOOKED like he'd answer to Snake.

but he's getting OLD. and that makes him even more slow. he was hard to buy as a fighting actiony guy already since he.... doesn't seem to know how to fight, but they kept putting him up against the tall quick kicky guy from Undisputed 3. made him look awwwwwful.

..... the Undisputed movies are a much better example of fun silly good times. WHY AREN'T 1 AND 2 OUT ON BLURAY YET DAMNIT.

I've always enjoyed shooting guns but I'm a terrible shot and live in the middle of Minneapolis. Can't justify one right now, maybe some day.

Only for gun ranges though. I don't understand the appeal of hunting at all :idk:

I love guns and have shot hunting rifles. But I have never owned a gun.

Probably will happen. I'd like an handgun and an AR-15 eventually. Not really for any other reason than to have a hobby.

Guns will go into a gun safe until such a time comes that they are needed (IE Zombie Nuclear Apoc-a-liss).

Archery is way fun as well and I'll learn to hunt when such a time comes. I'm get more and more distrusting of supermarket meat these days.

Mmmmm Paranoia.

behndy wrote:ugh. in Cali it's CRAZY the amount of "gun control" laws we have. yeah. works GREAT. look at Oakland. fucking insane out there. but a 29 round magazine? EEP. i think anything over 10 is illegal here.

i have a RIA 1911 .45 (damn son. you paid a G for yours? that's NICE. mines was $450 new, only had to replace 3 or 4 parts that were cheap. shoots WELL.), a Ruger SP101 357 and a Mossberg 500 12 gauge.

the 1911 is for my front room where i spend most of my waking hours, the shotty is for the bedroom. where i..... sleep.

yeah. i'm still torn about the "ready to go" vs "rack once for scary/dramatic effect" theories of how to leave your gun. i have the 1911 with one in the chamber, full mag and the safety on. the shotty right now is with a full under barrel and no rounds in the chamber. i think i'm going to go to locked and loaded on the shotty though. my brother had a long conversation with some cops and friends that have done bounty hunter style work.... the general consensus is that saying "i have a gun" or clickCLACK'ing isn't that effective. way better to keep it simple if you're waking up and be ready.

i...... think?

So funny, I used to own an SP100 and Mossberg 500. Good taste. I bought and sold em when I lived in California. Actually, I used to buy and sell guns like I currently buy and sell effects pedals. heh. Effects are much cheaper, and better for my mind. Like effects though, it's addicting once you start buying... Gotta have a .22(drive), a .38(delay), a .40(fuzz), a .357(phaser).... you get the idea...

I'm in Vermont now, where we have like the loosest gun laws in the country. In Cali if you're caught with a noise suppressor (silencer) on or off your gun you are going to jail, it's like premeditated manslaughter or something. NY, same thing, and of course the whole 'no more than 7 rounds' bs in NY now. In Vermont, if you're caught with a silencer it's (I shit you not) a $25 fine and they confiscate the device, that's it! You can conceal carry without a license here too. Thing is, why would you, it's fucking Vermont. This is where I got the 29 round clip. So...much...fun. but at $.10 a bullet, not good for the budget. (How do you not rapid fire with a 29 round handgun mag?)

I have my guns for paper and can shooting, and for blasting a scumbag if the situation calls for it (home invasion; again, super unlikely here in maple syrup country). I can't stomach the thought of hunting for sport, I mean, wacking some poor creature just trying to get through their day? I do understand culling for ecological reasons though, and hunting to eat if that's cheaper than grocery shopping or your only means of animal protein. I don't have much respect for rifle using hunters who shoot deer from 500 yrds away instead of dropping out of a tree with a bowie knife betwixt their teeth like a real man. I respect bow hunters a tiny bit more cus at least they got to sneak around like a real hunter. But rifle hunting for fun? Eh, not for me. (I don't jump out of trees at chipmunks or whatever either, just making that clear).

Can't say I'd feel too bad about blasting some dude(s) busting into my place to do me harm or rob me of my measly possessions. That's a tall bet son, and you'd best be ready for some hard calls when you toss a wad like that into the pot. Just saying. I mean, if you're gonna B and E into someone's place, wait till they aren't at home. I had a cop tell me once if anyone busts into your home and you shoot them, better to make sure they're deader than wounded. Dead men tell no tales, or sue for excessive force. 'Honestly your honor he would have killed me! I had no choice! He had a knife'! Case dismissed.

And (this is for you b-man) FUCK EHX!!!
Fuck em in their shitty-knobs crap-quality plastic-parts over-sized boxes o' turd effects crap hole. poop. poop and vomit.

And Hobo With a Shotgun rules! Just saying....

i DID like Hobo. but i'm a huge Rutger Hower fan. since he did Blade Runner, the man can do no wrong.

well, i don't want to kill anybody. but yesh. that's the whole point. if someone breaks into my place they're probably getting shot.

especially how shit happens out here now. it's kept pretty quiet in the media, but the trend lately, especially in Oakland, is that when people break in, they beat the hell out of whoever's home and rapes occur. muggings mostly end in rape. i know a few guys that bounce that hear what's really happening all the time, and most of them carry illegally.

the whole rather be tried by 12 then carried by 6 thing.

ugh. i wish there wasn't any violence in the world. except consensual in the bedroom anger stuff. it's so stupid. but.... there is. so. yeah.

You live in the murder capital of the U.S... I'd sure as shit have something.

The appeal of hunting for me is tasty venison, free of the shit that gets injected into animals that you end up purchasing from stores. It's challenging, humane compared to some of the shit I've heard/seen, and I get to be away from the every day stuff. Everything is just so serene and beautiful. No electronics, no people, gives you time to really think.

My lady friend just told me that Vermont is the ONLY state in the US that allows fishing with a gun...

That blows my mind. But now I wanna try it... And be a total hypocrite... Here fishy fishy fishy BLAM!!! .357 blast and trout pieces e-v-e-r-y-where.

Seriously, who does that? Apparently Vermonters...

Now fishing with dynamite... That's sport fishing!

i just. i don't. i. i WANT.

and i'm not really into hunting at all.

i don't eat meat (taste thing, not a poor widdle animals thing), so it'd be a waste of chewable items. and y'know.... NATURE. ew.

but fuck. teaching a smug fucking salmon a lesson in respect with a desert eagl? YES PLEASES.

........ which is the only handgun i really want. and maybe a nice no kick little 22.

Yeah there's a lot of guns in Chicago, but I suppose it depends on what neighborhood you live in. I still don't know if I would own one there though. Shooting someone in self defense usually results in tens of thousands of dollars in lawyer fees for the eventual trial. My uncles got their conceal and carry licenses and told me all about how the instructor advised people never to shoot unless you knew it was absolutely life or death, which can be tough to decipher in the moment. Otherwise you go bankrupt with court fees or go to jail if the assaulter is a great liar and has a good lawyer. Kind of fucked up really

I totally see how hunting appeals to a lot of people. I agree it is much more humane than almost any meat we buy in stores and much better and tastier (I used to eat my dad's homemade venison all of the time). But I don't eat meat anymore and I'm too much of a softy to shoot anything that's alive. What bugs me about a lot of Minnesotan hunters is that they just love the thrill of killing as many things as possible. Then they just take a picture with the bodies and just dispose them. To me that's really fucked up.

I have quite a few guns, I view them as tools, Unfortunately my bad leg keeps me from doing any serious hunting. I need to find some more friends who hunt. I got 10 lbs of elk meat last year and it was so good!

From a home defense standpoint. please train yourselves. Be safe. realize that someone who is desperate enough to break into your home may not be rational enough to respond to audio cues. If you are not prepared to pull the trigger, get a taser instead. I am coming from the standpoint of a 3 tour infantry combat veteran. Some people don't have it in them to do what is necessary, and that's ok. Kinda makes you a better person than I am in my book. But don't think the other guy won't go the distance.
