I've been listening to and loving my local IHEARTRADIO station a lot and do believe that as a guy who is a Music snob this makes me a Hipster...

serious answer:
in my opinion, the word has lost it's meaning over the decades since e.g. Ginsberg used it in Howl
now it doesn't mean anything else than an offense
that's what i think and i might write an article about it to the magazine, thanks for the idea

I don't like the hipster hate really. It's made people throw the word pretentious around far too much which is often mistaken for simply giving a fuck. Sorry, I can't help that I actually participate in art culture, self educate and enjoy alcohol beyond it's ability to get me intoxicated. Maybe if you had some dignity and stopped hanging out in your quasi-alcoholic, brain dead circle jerk you would realise that what you are isn't, and should not be, the norm.
I'm sick of being judged for wanting to share stuff that I am passionate about. If you can't keep up then I'll happily explain it (I'd love to even) and if you aren't interested then lets move on but if you get angry and call me pretentious then GTFO.

Yes yes yes. I love explaining how things work, and because my dad has always done that for me since i was a kid, I tend to as well. Electronics, physics, social constructs, whatever. I like knowing how things work and sharing that, because its cool to me. I can't even tell you how often that's misconstrued as pretentiousness.
I JUST THINK THAT THE WORLD IS AMAZING. I AN REALLY NOT TRYING TO BE A DICK OR MAKE YOU FEEL STUPID.

Some kid called me a hipster because I smoke american spirits. Sometimes I'll drink PBR when at a show in DC or Natty Bo in Baltimore. PBR and Natty Bo suck big time, but its the cheapest option available.
