I just figured it wasn't manly enough or whatever. I'm getting one this year though. My town is small enough that I could save some damn money on gas if I used the racer when I didn't need to take the wife and kid anywhere.

Cafe Racers are the coolest.
I've wanted one for years but haven't ever lived somewhere I could actually use one...
I'd go for red. Live the Bebop.

i fell in love with them when i stayed in wilmington nc for a few months. there was a club there and they met at the bar across from the condo i stayed at every week. I would just sit on the balcony and ogle all their bikes.

You can't go wrong with a clean Yamaha xs650, for a cafe racer type bike. Can also real easly be fabricated into a bobber/chopper. With that being said, I'm fucking stoked to start riding my FXD.

I really want something down that cafe racer end of town, namely this vicinity

But I'm being totally blocked by the wife.
Apparently now we have kids I can't go and do shit like that anymore.
I never grew up with bikes, that's granted, and I have very little experience with them, sure. But a couple of years ago I got to ride pillion and that was it for me. Everyday I drive my car (which I do love to death) I just feel the burn of sitting in traffic....

I wasn't aware of the poseur status rankings among different bike types. I just know I like cafe racers and bobbers. Dems appealing to me, style-wise. :idk:
Like I said, totally bike ignorant

New bars. Wiring doesn't reach to set them up internally, but I'll extend them soon. Here's how she sits at the moment:

Would love to restore and ride a Kawasaki Z 900 from the early 70s. See the 1979 movie Mad Max for some great examples. Aussie classic. Those bikes look fucking awesome. Go hard too. :excellent:
