yah. there's like 4 people over there on TB that i still like, and 2 of them are mods actually. Bryan and I Feel Like A Douche Because I'm Spacing His Name, but it's a guy that built a weird modded out TS clone for me and we did a deal or two for gear. good guy.

I've browsed TGP for about 2 years for its usefulness in discovering new gear, and the insight I've gained has been instrumental to my development and own personal gear evolution.
But it's mostly because at my core I'm an arty bricoleur kinda guy, distancing myself from the endless hacks of cliquey, sanctimonious blooz lawyers and coverband boys...shredders and "look at me I'm playing guitar!" types; allowing for actual growth and advancement outside of the klon/timmy/diamond comp bubble. (I own 0/3 but kinda do want to try a Tim/Timmy )

Come for the knowledge base, stay for the emporium...and the plentiful lols.

The key to maximum enjoyment is to somewhat assimilate on the surface, contributing legit content and informative "give-back" style insight/answers to posted questions....while laying down some well-orchestrated, highbrow trolling within the confines of their laundry list of rules.

You've really gotta be slick with ruffling feathers or the cliques will cry to mods like it's the freakin salem witch trials...and there's no shortage of thin-skinned, insincere folks just dripping in condescension and narrowminded bitterness.

And they aren't all tan pants wearing P&W players.

In any event, it provided me with that unintentionally hilarious photo. So hilar.
But TGP, for all its knowledge and sanctimony lacks charm or any real feeling of community.
It's very safe, and homogenous; even between competing tan pants blooz lawyers, tan pants p&w worshippers and leather pants shredders.

But this little corner of the internet...quite contrary.

TGPs just like any forum...mix of good folk, gear nuts justifying their latest purchases/shillers, good/bad players, and builders.
they just have a strict code of rules and mods.

I have been a member for a few years now and the only reason I ever log on is to see if any new stuff is coming out and look at gear porn threads. Oh and sell shit.
I've honestly never been on a forum were I actively dislike certain members like I do on TGP, I mean you usually get some difficult characters but some of those guys are straight up butt-faces. It's half the reason why I don't post except for nonsense and occasionally helping someone out, all I would do is argue with people.

The longer you stick around and pay attention the less nice it seems.

EDIT: Also their forum "memes" suck and are never funny. The fucking bear thing and the stupid Pterodactyl .
