When I was little we had a van just like the one in the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It had shag carpet on the floor, walls, and ceiling and a couch from someones living room in it. Vacations were the best back then. Looking back on it now though, I'm pretty sure one of us may have been conceived on that couch.

Ryan, as always, you've raised a pretty heavy issue ( the functionality of the rape van) and put all our asses into deep introspective mode. But skip is right....I'm just gonna leave that there for the purposes of shit stirring.

We call the van at work big Bertha, but it has no boogie. On the plus side though it doesnt have any rape vibes either. Sweet to drive though.

I really am in a pickle though. These locals keep listing their old Ampeg 4x12s, those ones they designed for the Lee Jackson head-watsit. They match perfectly with my AOR, and they keep letting them go for sub $200 prices. The wall of sound is within reach, but I no haz space...

What I really need is a new home, lol. Maybe I can live in a tent outside, and power all my gear with generators. Space issue resolved!

I toured a few times in an old Bell South telephone company van. It had a huge oil leak that would drip on the muffler so when we'd be going down the interstate it would look like Cheech and Chong blazing up. When we'd be passing through the mountains we'd have the pedal to the floor and only be going 20 mph uphill. Everyone who passed our big smoking shit wagon would give us a look of equal amounts of disgust and pity. I miss touring in that van.
