Robb's wife saving Maester Qyburn at the end of the episode.
An it's pretty cool to see how the show streamlines the story.

I just wish they had made her Jayne Westerling, instead of creating this new Talisa character out of nowhere, which I assume means cutting out the Westerling's part in the RW.

NSFW: show
I assume that Talisa will be shown to be employed by either Tywin Lannister or Roose Bolton. Either way I'm cool if it goes down that way. If it is just shown a stupid move on Robb's part (which it is no mater what the situation) by a chance meeting, I'll be calling B.S.

I understand the frustration with the change, but I have faith in the show creators. The only change I've been disappointed with so far was the way they portrayed the House of the Undying. Everything else they've changed have been pretty good changes.

Agreed, I like all the changes so far, and I'm no purist. I just don't like the way that they

changed Robb's motives for breaking the Frey marriage. In the books, it was an honor thing in addition to love because he bedded Jayne Westerling, and when you bed the daughter of a lord, it was just the way it worked that you had to marry her. In the show, it's just him being dumb and in love. Book Robb was dumb but honorable, like his father. Show Robb is just dumb.

Too much to explain for a relatively minor character that only really exists to act as a catalyst, would be my guess. Those are the kind of things that happen when you only have so many hours for an entire season.

Full disclosure: I haven't watched the show.

And I get that. I just think that it is a major change in Robb's motivation, and makes him a very different character from in the book.

I gotta be honest, I'm a little annoyed at how much streamlining they've done in the first two episodes alone. While I'm aware of the reasoning behind it, it's still a little glib to me. I've read the first four books as well, so maybe I'm just jonesing to see some of that detail fleshed out.
I heard that there will be changes in story arcs and my guess is that is is to a)avoid spoilers b) make it different enough from the books that if the show catches up to the book/ ol georgie boy carks it, then they can carry on.
On the subject of hotness, I'm so hanging out for the introduction of the dorninsh princesses.

George told the two producers and head writer how he plans the end the books in case he does die.

I literally put my fists up in the air in glee at the end of episode three. SUCH A GOOD WAY TO END IT.

That was a really rapey episode.

I half expected Bruce Willis in a wifebeater to emerge from the woods with the bow and arrow.

They need to do a khaleesi spinoff so i can just ogle her for 50 minutes a week.

My favorite tv series since the sopranos was good. Possible exception of Deadwood. Underrated as hell.

Just caught last week's episode and I'm glad this season is picking up. The first two episodes this season were slow, so hopefully things will pick up. I'm just disappointed that we didn't get to see
NSFW: show
Sam kill an Other. IIRC, that happened on their way back to Craster's.

The first two episodes were definitely setting things up for the season. I expect the story arcs to be balls out from hear on in. Storm of Swords is probably my favorite book of the series and has some of the biggest payoffs to readers. The Jamie twist at the end of this episode lived up to the imagery of the book and I'm glad they are getting to the book five story early for Theon's ordeal. I think viewers who haven't read the books wouldn't be as invested in his plight if they held off on his capture, torture and escape for 2-3 seasons.

NSFW: show
It looks like they are going to get to the Sam shivving the Other with dragonglass this week. I think that's why they showed Ghost in the clearing. My guess is that he will probably have Gilly and the baby with him and the Other will go after the baby.

As someone who has read the first 3 books, but not 4 or 5, I have no fucking idea where the Theon stuff is going. I've tried avoid getting more than 1 book ahead of the show, but I definitely didnt expect them to jump ahead to the latter books. I was so confused.
