People are getting upset over stuff that happened in a pay-money-to-write-on-my-tits scheme?

I believe wonderful things would happen with our beloved ILF builders, probably lawsuits from the big guns.

Maybe we'd all figure out that we're building the same pedal.

Hey Jack, do you still sell the clickless retrofit kits direct? I'm making a couple custom multi-effect boxes with a master on/off that needs to be click free. The customer plays electric guitar in a classical group, so his effect engagement has to be super quiet. I've seen a few on-line retailers that still have 'em in stock, but I'd rather give you the extra profit. I need two.

The product line is in the process of sale right now.
Lawyers are lawyering, contacts are being drafted.
I presume the buyer will resume commercial production once the transaction is complete.
News will be on the website as soon as it is available. I promise.

Thanks for thinking of me though!

I imagine that's good news for you - that you're selling the line. Congrats.

I'm cool with that. This thread didn't quite go in the direction I had intended.

I have no horse in any race, and i like at least one thing if not everything by the people I mention. So:

Aen and Taro Aiko (MASF) would put on Boris and be really rad to talk to, in part because we would all be real nice and drunk. I would ask Taro to build me something custom, and he'd be like "WHAT? BORIS IS TOO LOUD." I imagine a friendly discussion between the Black Cat people and Jeorge Tripps about the perils of staying financially solvent vs. going bankrupt and coming back at the cost of SMT. Josh from Malekko has dreads so I assume he would be smoking weed (reasonable assumption). I seem him cornered by TGP dudes grilling him about true bypass. This would eventually abate, and we'd discuss Don Buchla's circuits, hopefully with Tony Rolando and Grant Richter. I see Devi going HAM Judith Butler on anybody foolish. Just then a dude from BOSS appears, undercover in a Mumford and Sons shirt. He's quickly ferreted out and deal with, apparently by a woman in her underwear wielding a shotgun.

The icing on the cake: Dan Coggins and John Schumann would talk to people, but then get defensive and produced stilettos when asked about their circuits or to repair something.

My point is, I don't want to hear about politics or religious views, or sexual preferences, or whatever from pedal builders. You don't see pro builders like Boss putting up things on facebook to stir the pot. I'm not trying to attack you Jack in anyway, you're entitled to say whatever you want. I'm saying, that as a perspective customer, I am annoyed by the whole thing. I will NOT buy from Devi Ever because she is unstable, I like the pedals, but not from her. I just don't want to hear about it. Just my opinion. Doesn't mean it's right.

Right there with ya, homie. I'm in business to design and manufacture guitar effects, and sometimes a neat embedded system, not go on political diatribes.

I am pretty bummed that a private matter was made public against my will and my organization and person have been portrayed in the light they have been. Far from the truth, but I my discipline is in electronics and logic, not poly-sci. We can pick our nose, and we can pick our friends, but we can't pick what other people say about us, right? Something like that at least...

I don't think you look bad or have anything to worry about with this crowd. Most here know enough about Devi to ignore the drama. I saw the whole mess on Facebook earlier this morning and couldn't believe the stupidity. I was glad to see a rational discussion of the whole mess here.

i feel like the validity of what devi is saying is being lost simply because she is an unpopular person trying to put forward an unpopular argument. even if you're not sex positive there is a much less aggressive way to get you're point across and she should be more cognizant of that. i feel some of her criticisms are valid, and her tone in putting them forward, combined with the "make this shit go away" mentality is preventing people from having an honest discussion about it. i have always seen ILF as a hub for goofy, thoughtful, strange, and intelligent people. if it's just the case of people don't want to talk about anything that can't be represented by a Hammond enclosure and a handful of transistors, then so be it. maybe people just need to hash this shit out for themselves. FWIW, jack deville seems like he made of bone, meat and guts, like the rest of us, and can feel and present shit however he wants in good ol merica. FBG, pretty nice-looking lady. guns: i enjoy them.

BOSS doesn't does this? dip, i wonder why.

As I see it all Jack did was point out the hypocrisy of some feminists that go on about misogyny, how horrible society treats women as sex objects and how women should be valued for qualities other than their bodies and then turn around and use "female empowerment" as an excuse to use their bodies to make money and thus reinforce the stereotypes they are against.

I'm also pretty sure I've seen media criticisim very similar to Jack's requests done with sexist ads before, maybe from Adbusters.

yup^

i also, think devi missed that it was supposed to be tongue and cheek. still hawt, but tounge and cheek.

realistically, out of all of the totally irrational things we base purchases on, does "hot chick + gun" ever remotely factor in? do you buy shit beer cause your broke, or because the is a sad fake tit cardboard cut out?
