The dude said he had a MIM neck on it and it was fine.
If that's true, the Strat conversion neck from Warmoth should work fine.

I'm just going to through this one out there.... has anyone tried to fit a tele-style neck in a strat style neck pocket? I mean, by using files and stuff to round it down? I'm curious because I'm not really finding anything other than tele bodies that will fit that Dano neck. I don't have anything against teles....but I have to go against the grain on this one and do something different.

Yeah, you could. Just make sure you don't take too much off or you could mess up the scale/intonatability.
If you go with the Strat you may have more trouble with the bridge than the neck pocket.

I'm still not sure what I'm gonna do. The holes/saddles on the strat bridge would be too small, etc...right? Faak. This isn't looking like a cheap build.....

That and tremolo bridges aren't as stable especially with the thicker strings and heavier tension.
You could try a Telemaster body...

Dang! I went and bought a beat up BC Rich mockingbird today. I'm going to refinish it and either use one of them dano necks (I'll move the bridge, etc) or maybe find out if the neck pocket will fit a Warmoth neck. I haven't torn it apart yet. Telemasters are neat, but I'm not super stoked on single coils. I know there have been lots of recommendations for P90s and low-output pickups regarding low tunings....but singles for something I want to sound heavy?

Thoughts?

I have a Telemaster with a BKP Warpig in the neck.
My Mudfuuz VI has a Super Distortion T in the bridge and a Gibson 490R in the neck.
I like humbuckers too and you can fit pretty much anything in the neck spot on a Tele/Telemaster depending on the route.
There are less choices for the bridge but a lot of companies offer Humbucker bridge options.
If the Mockingbird don't sing, I might be interested in parting with that Warpig loaded Telemaster body.

I
still haven't been able to try out a P90....I've been buying other stuff. But I did try out the G&L zcoils I had and they sounded too thin for me, too strat-ish.

I'll let you know how things shape up.

Try a Phat Cat P90 with a 205k pot. Best combo I've tried by far. Plenty of low end and it really retains the sound of the actual guitar itself. I really cant' recommend those enough. They are humbucker sized P90s!

Hey, when you move the bridge on a guitar to accommodate a different scale neck, how important is the placing of the bridge humbucker? Anyone know if it'll be okay where it was originally? The original scale on the 'bird was 24.75" and I'm going to convert it with a 28 5/8" Warmoth neck. I know it's not a HUGE difference, but I thought I'd ask.
