Sound guy: "Can you play around 50% quieter? You have too much level on my mixer"
Me: "Then why don't you just turn down my mic?"
Sound guy: "Because I have it all set up how I need/want it."
Me: "Well... you're the sound guy.. your job is to.. you know.. make us sound good!?"
Sound guy: "Yeah, but I'm not messing with the settings that I have. I have many years of experience and I'm not messing with my stuff just because you can't play."

"I don't get why so many people tune down to drop A and then wonder why they only have one tone. But hey, it's all personal"

It's like when people say, "I'm not a racist - but" or "I have nothing against gays...". You're still a close minded douche.

"Are you playing in Drop D/C?"

"Slow down."

"I can barely hear what you're playing with all the distortion."

"Turn down your amp."

"Do you have a tuner?"

"it's tuned to an open G"
"ah, yeah, it's out of tune. mind if I give you a hand and tune it?"

Oh God, so much frustration with that. I play in Open C on one of my guitars (probably all of them, when I have the time/money to pick up strings). I HATE when people fuck with my tuning because it's not E Standard.

Or worse, when I tune to Eb and they pitch everything up a string.
FUCK YOU, I KNOW IT'S FLAT. I LIKE Eb YOU BITCH.

The thing I really hate is the way they say mind if I give you a hand with it. As if I weren't able to tune that thang just because I WANT it in a tuning they can't understand.

I only ever get that when I play in Eb, or some standard variant with a string or two different, but yeah. I know what you mean.

Guy at GC - "Yeah, I mean, I can understand having maybe like one or two distortions but really, I don't see why all these new boutique companies are all coming out with fuzzes. You don't need like ten fuzzes! Make something else, ya know?"

Me - "I own 17 fuzzes. Now are you gonna sell me this B:Assmaster or what?"

another time

Guy at show "Yeah, so basically, we're the loudest band of all time. I got this fender with 4 10s, and our bass player has this 8x10. That's like twelve tens, man. So many tens. OUR NEIGHBORS COULD HEAR US WHEN WE WERE PLAYING."
