Snax, art, pedals, used dildos, comix, DVDs, music, etc. Basically anything. It's fun to stalk your SS, see what he posts about and get him stuff based off that.
wdinc, you've been around for a while so I'd say you can play and just do the whole ship your box to your SS giftee before your gifter sends their's out to you. Seems like the best way to subdue any fears of shenanigans.
