I e-mailed Ben about some concerns of mine. One of them being the fact that I have both a solid state and tube amp and was wondering how they would work. He said they demoed both and they both sound amazing. I also asked about timeline of when the project will actually ship. He said his plans are exactly what the kickstart says. He also gave me his phone number if I wanted to speak with him any further about it.

I feel pretty comfortable with this. I know it could turn out bad, but it could also be amazing. I am going to be in on this for sure. So, that being said. Watch the BST section for some sexy pedals from yours truly. You motherfuckers better buy them too damn it!!!!!!! :)

I'm sure, after a short look at "the things to come", that i will chime in for the Meatsmoke.

He may make great stuff; I've even gassed for a Loucks, but $500 seems way too much for a vacuum tube distortion/preamp pedal let alone $700.
Her: "Why do you need to build 'some more' amps?"
Me: "Because that will make me happy. That's important for you, right? For me to be happy?"

Yup. I couldn't part with that kinda cash, would just save up for an actual amp at that point....

Yeah. Its funny because right before the pedals were announced I almost got in touch with Ben about building a Meatsmoke pre into a tiny headshell haha

Haha, that woulda been awesome!

The demos sound great, don't get me wrong, but fuck $699 is pricey! I recently bought that Orange OD15 and Ampeg gvt15 for around $500 each so that's where my logic is coming from. I'll choose an actual amp everytime!

Oh, btw skully, those pedals you loaned me are pretty BADASS!

Yeah, I agree on the price. Like you said, you can get mini heads complete with power amps for less, no matter how awesome the Meatsmoke sounds. That was my only quam with Verellen was that they were a fair amount more expensive when I was buying my cab, BUT I will attest that the cab is bomb proof and completely solid as shit and EXACTLY what I wanted.

And GOOD!! I hope you're having fun with them!!

Its an Eminence Delta Pro 12LFA, I think about 400w of total handling at peak? It's a 4ohm bass speaker that's taken both my 120w Peavey head and 60 watt Sunn Sceptre. I can tell the that Peavey pushes the speaker, it being a 1x12 and all, but I've had it for about 2 months now without issues. I've been running my 5w Valve Junior into it lately :( haha. BUT IT SOUNDS HUGE THAT WAY

Very nice! :thumb:

I almost went with a Delta Pro in my Emperor 1x12 when I planned on running it solo but then I went ordering a second 1x12 and went another route on speakers.

Ben was a little hesitant to put the LFA into the cab since I told him I was going to use it for both bass AND guitar, but only because it didn't have quite the frequency range that the other Delta Pro has that is 8 ohms and more full range. But honestly it's not a dark sounding speaker. Who knows, if these were loaded into a 4x12 it might be a different story. But it seems to do well for what I'm working with!
