Each pad for each loop. Different taps for different functions?

Oh yeah, and the directions are RIGHT THERE between the footswitches.

I'm very excited about the Vox Looper. I don't need any of those other functions (the onboard effects) but two separate loops with separate triggering and an undo/redo feature means I could phrase different sections easily.
I'll buy one if the price doesn't suck.

me, too. that could be a nice simple solution for my purposes. i'm not particularly interested in the onboard effects because i run my board into the loopers, but i'd certainly try them out, and the undo/redo certainly offers lots of potential applications especially if you can undo multiple layers. that'd allow minimal compositions you could unstack/break down.

well can you overdub on each loop? because... than it might be worth a try

Yes. At least, according to the demo I watched earlier.

That VOX looks interesting. Mmmmmm... should try one out to check the headroom and the effects. If even just for the curiosity.

Has anyone ever gotten to see Dosh Live??? Dosh and Mike build up each song in front of your face with loops and loops of loops... Check out some of the videos he has for ways to use Live looping in a band setting...

Tried looping with my TimeLine for the first time last night. I really like it a lot. My only complaint is sometimes it gets a little blown out

How's the looping on Timeline anyway? Can you elaborate on it a bit more? Seems as if it wasn't really practical for looping :-x

I really haven't gotten super in depth with it, and I was reading a bit more on it last night, but the way I've used it so far is like this:
You get into the bank that you want, for example bank 49, and select the delay you want 'B' for example. You then hold down the TAP switch to enter the looper. the 'A' preset switch becomes the record button, the 'B' preset switch becomes the 'start loop over' switch, and if you tap the TAP switch, it clears the loop.
I read that you can toggle the looper so that you can exit out of it while the loop plays, and that you can select different delays and then go back into the looper. I'm definitely going to learn how to do that.
As far as simplicity of use, it's great. I've not used it in a band type setting to be able to really support this, but looping stuff myself seems alright. The way I loop, I play the main structure twice over before I start looping, so that gives me time to hold the TAP down before I start recording.
I like using switches instead of soft touch or boss-style stomps because I seem to be more on time.
Another thing I need to look into is how to adjust loop volume, especially when running distortion. It seems like when I was running my Big Muff into it there was a pretty hefty volume increase, but I'm sure there is a way to fix that. It only seems to do that in looping.
I really need to read through the manual and screw with it some more. I've spent about 3 hours with it thus far and I still feel so new. I'm still trying to get through all the pre-set banks!

Word on the onboard effects. That's why I've been looking for the simplest looper without the extra bullshit. I wonder if they figure that the damn thing wouldn't sell if it didn't have extra effects with it... I'd prefer it without. But, if I'm not mistaken, isn't this a tune-down version of a bigger Vox device?
Anyway, that's why I think I'm still set on the SMMH if I can find a good deal... the delays in it are going to be high-quality (if I need them), and the looper is very simple, WITH the ability to use the delays with the looper.
