I've never been a fan of earbuds.
I'm very satisfied with my pair of Shure SRH240's
http://www.amazon.com/Shure-SRH240-Prof ... B002DP594WThey are falling apart a little bit,...but they are still functioning and sound fine to me to my unsophisticated ears.

My first day in Audio 101 class my teacher asked if anyone had earbuds, a couple people rasied their hands, so he said go ahead and throw em in the trash or stab your self in the ear with a screwdriver and get it over with, they will ruin your ears through virtue of design... All earbuds have hyped 4k frequencies which vibrates your ear canal which then over time damages the tympanic membrane causing deafness or at the least loss of high frequency range hearing response.... And then he went into a nice hour long rant about how earbuds are the worst thing you can use as a recording or live sound engineer....
After that day i never use earbuds..... especially not 400$ ones....
That's actually
excellent advice. I
much prefer overhead earphones for several reasons (better spacing/diffusion of sound in my perception) and with this in mind, I'll be passing on some advice to bandmates. At least some of the old (broken) ones I have will make decent earplugs for jamming.
I'm moving to Lava around Xmas, they look
tidy.
Your band rules.

they're overpriced, and i probably won't buy monster guitar cables again, but they're warranty'd for life no matter what happens to em. that being said, i want a coily cable
