Fingers are nice and picks are nice too
I hate it when people slap as fast as possible while noodling. It's the bass equivalent of dudes shredding up and down scales at a million BPM, like when you walk into Guitar Center.

Anyway, there are certainly things that I like and things that I don't, but I can't say that I

LOL I TOTALLY AGREE!!! honestly though, (this probably goes in the confessions thread) i used to want to learn how to use a pick. you should've seen my bass teacher's face when i asked him to teach me how to use a pick. (and his face when i couldn't fucking do it) i tried, but i found it unsatisfying/hard (fingerstyle feels sooooo gooooooooood) and so my inability to use a pick turned into dislike. then i started playing guitar (acoustic only) and i never use a pick there either.
i haven't played electric extensively, but i guess i'm going to have to learn how to use a pick eventually.
