I had an SC120 a few years back. I always found it surprisingly unresponsive and dull.

A box from Hovercraft arrived in my office today!
Hopefully I can cut out of here a bit early to unleash some low wattage doom on my neighbors tonight.

If you want a JCM style head, try to hunt down a Red Bear/Sovtek. Unfortunately they're not nearly as common on your side as they are over here.
Also, there's really no reason to buy a 4x15, unless you're into looking as loud as possible rather than being as loud as possible.

All i needed to hear. I am buying 2. Bye bye DL4!
My 2x15 is from the 800bass series. That's all i really have to offer other than, "Yes, have some."

Novikov Still makes them as Novik Amps
http://novikamps.ru/usilitel/gitarnye-lampovye-usiliteli/novik-mk-6.html The red bear facebook page is full of euros with Noviks.
Edit: The actual red bear model:

No idea they were still being made. That's rad!

I found the Hiwatt Custom 100 I tried to be a bit dull, too. It's just a blunt weapon unless you play it really loudly. I liked the overdrive a lot more than the clean, which is usually the other way around.

I never really get much GAS but I sure would like a brand new Red Bear 120 watter! What's the difference between MK and MKE?

I would as well. I had no idea they were still being made, albeit under a different name. The price starts at €850 as well, which is really reasonable.

It's not fair, I want to try every one of those pedals. They all sound AWESOME.

Ancient Astronaught wrote:Any large quantity speaker bass cab is going to be extremely high wattage, which is why alot of guys go with a preamp and high wattage SS power amp setup. I've played through a fridge and if your in standard tuning it can't be beat, but with my p-bass in BEAD it had no where near the low end my 2x15 puts out.
Mammoth and Olde Crow both build stained cabinets in a similar yet different vein of Emperor. When Emperor declined to build my headshell Tom at mammoth stepped up and blew them out of the water. His aesthetic and build quality is top notch and he loves big loud doomy cabs. Olde Crow I don't have any personal experience with but the stuff they post online is jaw dropping.
I thought that Ampeg 810 cabs were something like.. 400 watts? Or 800 watts? I don't really remember, haha.
I will definitely check out both companies when I get home. I may just try and find a 70's Traynor Big B 810 in my area and pair it up with the 810 that the new guitar offered
For me to use for now too. Definitely have me sold on an 810 and 415 combo though... Thanks for talking me out of the 412/215/810 combo hahaha. It's cheaper that way too.

REAL hard to find, haha. I just pretend they don't exist because they're so hard to find.
