All I want to do is play the Witcher2, which I PAID FOR but now have to redownload and reinstall because fucking steam wouldn't let me log on. I tried everything I could think of to get it to log me on and when that didn't work, I reinstalled steam. Now, my game is nowhere to be found. This is why I have always pirated games. Because if I paid for the game, I should be able to play it, not have to jump a bunch of fucking hoops and waste my free time trying to get the game to work instead of playing the damn game. MIDDLE FINGERS TO YOU STEAM.

I used to like consoles way more for this very reason. You buy the game. YOU CAN PLAY THE GAME. But oh wait, aren't all the consoles going to be social network machines, and thus most likely require internet access to play? I fucking hope not.

Ok. Rant done. I'm going to find something I can actually play now.

Edit: Let me say that I would like to support the developers, but I fucking can't deal with Steam anymore. I have too many issues with it. If developers want to sell their games through other sources that don't have to monitor me via the internet when I play, or prevent me from playing what I paid for without their clients apps or whatever, I'll gladly throw them my money.

Dude, just buy games from Good Old Games when you can. Buy all the older games on GOG as well as every CD Project Red game. You don't need to be logged in to anything and it's DRM free. And, they have great customer service that will refund you your money if the game doesn't work for you. I'd send you a copy of Witcher 2, but it's a giant 15gb file.

/public service announcement.

I don't have any problems with Steam and one little instance doesn't really reflect on the program, aside from having to be connected to the Internet Origin is actually pretty good considering. Has Twitch streaming cabailities integrated. I hate Windows Live with a passion though

I know steam has it's good things. I just hate the idea of having to be connected to the internet to be able to do anything related to said games....

There is an Offline Mode, I've used it many many times. Online only is mainly for EA and Windows games at least.

Can play Skyrim with no Internet so yay.

I was playing in offline mode for a long while. It's just since it had the log-in issue that all that crap happened. Maybe I'll break down and just re-download and re-install the game. It's just frustrating because, like I said.... I paid for it. With my own money. This is a tangent but it's the same reason I won't use itunes. You're "licensing" the music from itunes, not purchasing it.

Got a Dark Souls dude that I really like sooooo been playing a bunch of PvP. Even though the PC is infested with hackers and terrible netcode (moreso than consoles, I assume), something compels me to keep playing. If you run into a tracereading in the forest or township, that's me.

The sequel is less than 10 weeks away hnnnnnggg though still no official PC release date hnnnnnnggg

:?:

iTunes doesn't have DRM anymore, when you buy a song you can do whatever you want with it. That said their prices and selection aren't good for my taste so I generally use Bandcamp/buy vinyl.

ima be honest. im right there with you. the first 4 ff were so... perfect. i think i played every release afterward just for nostalgic purposes even tho they were all drastically different from the originals. flame away at this next comment. i reach for ff1 and ff2 before ff7.

The rerelease of Final Fantasy I, II, III, IV and V on iOS has been awesome. I played IV on my iPad (first generation) and it was a ton of fun.

I've played released on ROMs, GameBoys, etc., but since I don't have those devices anymore the iPad makes it nice.

Final Fantasy is my favorite series of all time. I bought a used PS2 after college so I could replay all of those games. Then I bought a PS3 in anticipation of Final Fantasy XII.

My love of FF begins and ends with 6. I've played many others and enjoyed them, but that one has the magic.

Pure magic. Nostalgic chills running up and down my spine. SO BEAUTIFUL

Last tangent..... That's good. And yeah, their selection probably doens't have anything I give a shit about either.

All the FF talk is making want to play games even more. It's been so hard for me to get into a game for the past couple years. I dunno if it's because I'm gettin older or what, but hardly any new games have that "magic." The last two that really sucked me in were Kingdoms of Amalur and Dishonored. Amalur was a lot of fun; the systems were set up nicely and the game was just. SO. PRETTY. But the weapons and enemies were sooooooooooooo cut-and-paste. How many colors of wolf can you fight? A lot. The difficulty left something to be desired, too. At its hardest, the enemies didn't hurt you that much more; they just had wayyy more life and took longer to hack down.
