Every time I have to struggle for an hour to wrangle compatibility issues and draconic DRM, I question why I bothered with PC gaming.

Also Dark Souls' pc controls are awk as fuck.

Yeah, I should have mentioned it, but you absolutely need a gamepad to play Dark Souls. I use a $6 "P3" PS3 copy with something like MotionInJoy or DS3 Tool and it's been great. It ain't a smooth port.
You gotta download DSfix for it to be a little more optimized, as well.

Except I always go with the Master Key as the starting item. So useful.

Very good tips there^

Been making my way through Demon's Souls at the moment. Got a lvl 30 mage. Not sure I need to level up anymore, as I like to upgrade my gear more than level up, but we'll see once I get a little farther. Took down the first bosses in shrine of storms and the latria last night. About to jump into it again this evening.

Also, good video on how not how to play Dark Souls haha

Civilization 5, man.

Assyria was my Friend for about 120 turns, shared my goods and trade routes. Their leader asked for Open Borders and then wages war on my 3 Army units.

 I'm still learning Civilization 5.
For instance, I just learned about the warmongering penalty.
I've always been confused why people hate me after I conquer a civ that attacks me or defend a friendly civ.
I hate that, and I hate when you're trying to be all peaceful and diplomatic and another civ just keeps waging war on you.

I usually end up going military because I'm not nuanced enough for the subtler victories.

boot up Dark Souls for the thousandth time...

FAILED TO LOAD SAVE DATA

Small heart attack, but alt+f4+reboot made the problem go away. And to think if I'd just clicked 'yes', all my work would be smoke. :picard:

GFWL, we won't miss you.

I can commiserate with you. I beat Dark Souls awhile ago and decided to replay it with a new character so I could correct all the mistakes I made the first play through. It was going great. I was about half way through in Anor Londo and my system died. I had to buy a new one. I didn't have the strength to go through all of that again especially since I just did it. So, I decided to play Demon's Souls again since it has been years since I beat that, and I got lost somewhere down in those caves with those giant lava bugs for a few minutes which I remember happening the first time I played it. So I said fuck it, and that was the end of that idea. Looking forward to Darks Souls 2 though.

Haha...layin' low. My band situation fell apart and I got super frustrated and bummed about not playing music for a while - had to take abreak from the ILF. Been getting the itch again lately, started lurking the last week or two.

Feels good man. :hello:

Started Metro 2033. I've read the book and loved the fuck out of Metro:LL (is on my top 10 list for the year), haven't played the game and it's been there since some impulse Steam sale purchase. About 4 hours in, it plays well and looks really, really good but I feel like playing something else a bit more low key.

Going to start Zelda: Link Between Worlds, want something pick up and play and I haven't used my 3DS as much as I should

Been loving AC:4. I like the freedom to be stealthy, but then you can still handle things when everything goes pear shaped. Also, pirating. Yarrrr.
