I know Nels Cline's board has been posted before but I just thought this was cool as hell. Wilco has a page that allows you to pan and zoom in super tight on details of their loft area. Same technology used by the Mars Rover. Fuck Mars, lets see what Nels uses.............

i used ot hate on Wilco so hard 'til i saw that documentarie & that totally changed my mind about them. that documentarie, their loft studio space & the fact that YHF is really inventive (& not as bad as record as i assumed it would be...(& the fact that Jeff Tweedy listens to Merzboow...)...) instantly changed my opinion about Wilco. & i had no idea they were from Chicago--

i like that Nels Cline has both a 'B' board & he uses a Kaoss Pad. i think thats great. to be honest i have not actually heard his work but i respect Nels Cline on GP.

Just saw HEALTH last night and managed to be a nerd and figuh shit out. By far my favorite band out of the 2000's, probably my favorite noiserock band as well, if you haven't heard them stop reading this and go listen.

that's pretty much it as far as i can see. he runs two dynamic mics into the mixer in a pretty unique fashion to get the feedback and i'm 90% sure the effects are in a parallel chain on the fx sends and his bass is on the 3rd channel of the mixer, but i could be wrong. the strobostomp is used as a kill switch on what i believe is one of the chains in the parallel effects line. the only thing i'm stumped on is the the "solo" part in die slow (the weird pitched feedback that cuts in and out of the rhythm that is produced by the sl-20 loop). i'm not sure if he is twisting a knob on the ps-5, or if he is twisting the knob on the mixer's fx send, or maybe it's a pedal that i didn't see. "

Ahahah. I could definately see why somone would dislike HEALTH though.

Indian Jewelry were quite awesome, but I was like right by the stage so the mix was really fuckin weird, it was like all bass and no guitars or vox. *shrugs* They were still awesome enough that I bought a shirt.

I was chilling with them before the show outside, not realizing at all who they were,too haha. It was a mindfuck when they walked on stage and I was like "Hey it's that goth girl I was talking to before...wait.."

i don't necessarily dislike HEALTH. i think dislike is too strong of a word though. i'm more like mildly indifferent to HEALTH.

imho, nels cline's soo work is much better than wilco, pick up Coward and Buried on Bunker Hill if you have the chance, you won't be dissapointed.

saw Wavves on friday he just had 4 boss pedals and a footswitch for his amps dirt (Fender Deville). one was a tuner, one was a chorus and one was a flanger I think. the last one was probably a delay or reverb. some of these may have been used for his voice instead of his guitar though

Saw the Nels Cline Singers the other night in Philly and was blown away. Went from atmospheric to jazzy to noise to balls out wall of wailing. Gotta say he's a master of pedals, on the floor and at arms reach. Knows exactly where to use em and so quick on his feet that if you blink you'll miss it. FWIW looked to be playin through a Hot Rod Deluxe. If I remember right he doesn't travel with an amp, just uses what he can get his hands on at the show. Anywho, great show, here's a shot ... and a viddy I threw together.
