Oh man. Aeropress is good. Smooth as silk. I'm a fan.
glad you liked it. What coffee do you put through it?
I've used a few different types. All good, regardless of roast level. Anymore I tend towards medium roasts, though a darker one is fine.
Kind of surprised how good it is. Didn't expect there to be a huge difference. I was wrong. Just clean, smooth, and pure.
Doesn't hurt that it's easier to clean than a french press (and won't break).

So expensive here, plus I was working mid-day shifts at the time so I didn't need it to get through the day. I've been drinking different kinds of tea instead, which I like more in terms of flavour and variety.

Probably going to be getting an aeropress here real soon. GF and i stopped in a local coffee shop in Denver and the cup I had was instantly remarkable. Not my choice for coffee (was rather fruity and odd tasting) but my gf's cup was a lighter roast and quite smooth and delicious.

Could have been. I should have asked as I'm really trying to get a taste for things. I like roasty/dark/smoky/full flavored that isn't sweet. The more spicy/fruity ones are a bit off tasting to me. Haven't developed that taste yet.

I really like African (and by extension Arabian) coffees. They tend to be a little naturally sweeter and taste fruitier. They're more interesting to me.
Central American coffees are my second favorite. They're smoother and more balanced. That's what I think people should think of when they think "coffee".
I don't like really dark roasts. I usually prefer medium roasts.

I've been playing around with different mixes of lighter and darker roasts. Getting a good even mixture between the two type of deal.

i have an older rancilio silvia, similar to this--manual control:
ethiopian coffees (especially yirgacheffe) are my favorite, followed by indonesian (sumatra, bali). i like varieties with distinctive character--they don't have to be smooth.

Since moving in with my girlfriend, I've been using her aero press A LOT lately. Fucking love that thing so much, especially making an almost espresso type coffee. I get free coffee from her, but I'll treat myself to some better stuff from Daz-Bog every once in a while. I like their KGBlend the best. Nice and strong, dark and full roasted flavor. I've come to the ultimate conclusion that I can't stand lighter roasts though. Taste like damn vegetable gardens.
But just like my beer tastes, I get bored very easily. Bought myself a pour-over carafe today. It's good, just need to play with it a bit; the grind wasn't quite there.
Have any of you guys used a siphon coffee maker? I've been eyeballing the Bodum Pebo. The process is really neat, and I am curious on how it tastes.

Nobody here likes coffee.
I've used a siphon. It produces a very smooth cup.
IMO it's good for…
(wait for it)…
lighter roasts.
I mean, I'm sure it's fine for darker roasts too, but it really brings out the subtleties of lighter roasts.
