Pharaoh. I've had a bunch of contenders go up against it. Still on the board, still an essential part of my favorite sound. Stacks well. I dont know if I would call it nasty though. It can be, but I've found that dialing it back a bit and letting what comes after it breathe sounds even bigger. (at gigging volume)

I built one from Internet specs and thought it sounded pretty good as a post fattener but the person I built it for seemed to have the impression that it didn't sound as good/the same as a Pharoah. So probably won't hit that again. I usually feel like muffs are more of an overdrive or really tamed down fuzz. Maybe the Megalith has spoiled me as no other fuzz makes me as happy. Gated and synthy but huge sustain, maybe I built mine wrong but for the better.

I really like the Musket.
I've tried a bunch of different variations of the Muff and never found that cascading them works very well. But, putting something bright in front of them always sounds really good.
Rangemaster into Muff (with mids knob) - Make it happen and I want it.

That's actually a really great idea. Rangeblaster with variable input cap blend or in cap rotary switch into muff. I like it.

Which muff is the musket based off? I was thinking rams head with mids control. But then there's multiple versions of the rams head, as well. The 47 version which I think is what the Pharoah is based due to the large .47 caps. And there's the versions with .1s and .12s. Lots of choices...

I think the Musket is Russian-derived. It's pretty dark and smooth.

I'd totally be into having you build me one of these if you decide to make it a reality. Sounds like it would fucking rule.

You a bass player, right? Not sure that a Rangemaster would play well with bass. God I wish I still had my bass, a big amp, and space to crank out some bass effects!

That really does sound like it'd be a great pedal (rangmaster+ into muff)

and have you tried the Jordan Creator version? I doubt it's any fuzzier, but I've been meaning to bread board it.

Haven't tried the Jordan creator version but yesterday downloaded that schematic and a bunch of the other ones.

Ring Stinger/String Ringer project. Not sure if I would make this for anyone else but if it works and it's awesome then maybe. This pedal will be huge. Not building much these days but have a tone machine or two that'll be up for grabs soon. Gotta finish intothegroove's Roctave Divider. A Acetone FM2 and a FTM rehouse then gonna build a demo tape fuzz, a Gemini fuzz, and a flanger fo myself.
