So here's a breakdown if you're interested.

Bass gets 8x10's, 4x12's powered by the Peavey Classic 400 and Sunn concert.

Guitar gets 8x12's, 4x15's and 2x10's powered by Simms watts AP100, Sunn 1200S and Ward GIM9171A

I wish more guitars came with them, I far prefer maple fretboards to rosewood, and just a lil more then ebony. I love the speed and smooth feel of them, and their brightness helps a bit for dark detuned guitars.

so true man...especially on the brightness...they just have more pop. Ebony is good as well. I had two guitars before that i sold, one with ebony and one with maple, and thought they sounded too bright. I now regret tailoring all my gear to sound deep and heavy...because now in a band situation, i have massive issues with cutting through...might have to buy an EQ to solve it

also now thinking of going back to OD and Distortion over fuzz to help with cut...but that's a controversial thought that even my own brain is battling over!

Sick setup dude!!! I'm gonna be running something fairly similar here soon. I am selling all the pedals I bought recently so I could invest in a new head, will most likely be running just tuner > digital delay > quantum mystic for a pedal board.

I'm thinking of stripping my rig down to the basics. I can do tithout the Dynacomp and Small Stone for sure. I could get by for the most part with just my DE7 but I still need that reverse and band delay off of my Timefactor. Jamming at home with just a combo amp and guitar makes you realize that you can still bring the heavies without lots of effects.

it's funny, I hadn't really thought about it but the maple fretboard 12 is the brightest, then the ebony and then the rosewood. I tend to be more electronics in the old tonewoods vs pickups argument but that definitely fits with what people say about the different fretboards effects. Of course it could be coincidence.
