This packaging would drive me fucking CRAZY!
DR recently switched to 3 sleeves per pack, each containing 2 strings and I'm still busy bitching about that.



I keep them in those bundles in a ziplock labeled with the string size. I don;t see that it is any more of a pain in the dick to pull that out than unwinding the usual coil. I'm never in a rush to change strings anyway... i usually do it while watching tv or in between jerk-off sessions when i am much more zen about life. IF i break a string live, that is why i have 2 other guitars with me. I don't change strings on stage.
