This packaging would drive me fucking CRAZY!

DR recently switched to 3 sleeves per pack, each containing 2 strings and I'm still busy bitching about that.

I noticed that as well. Two strings per pack. Not very convenient. D'Addario are still the shit.

I have zero problems getting one string out at a time :idk: I keep them in those bundles in a ziplock labeled with the string size. I don;t see that it is any more of a pain in the dick to pull that out than unwinding the usual coil. I'm never in a rush to change strings anyway... i usually do it while watching tv or in between jerk-off sessions when i am much more zen about life. IF i break a string live, that is why i have 2 other guitars with me. I don't change strings on stage.

Quoted for fact. I love that album as much still if not more than the day it was finished.
I love those guys to death and I've known Mike since Yob's demo days, but I still can't get into Atma or The Great Cessation.
That being said, Yob are at the top of their game as a live act. The last few times I've seen them have been the best out of the (almost)thirteen years I've been watching them.
Also, Nick, I want in on that first batch of HM-2s if they are not all already spoken for.

So i'm 2 days into listening to YOB, i already think they are one of the best bands i've heard and thats base only on Atma...i will have to get their other stuff as well...i need to catch up!

Also listened to some Elder today, which sounded pretty good...they are touring uk in April; that will be my first gig since fatherhood...cant wait!

When I first heard YOB I felt the same. Sometimes a band just has something undeniable. They have 'it'.

Dude, those first three records are perfect. I like most all of them but shit, that golden trifecta is hard to beat. My buddy Graham is J's guitar tech so I decided to meet up with him in NYC for the show they did for the 25th Anniversary of You're Living All Over Me and it ruled so hard. All the bill said was that there were going to be Johnny Marr and some very special guests so I'm thinking alright Marr will come out and maybe Lee Renaldo or something. Well Lee was there and sang Fury Little Things then they played YLAOM in its entirety. I'm thinking to myself, what a great show, completely forgot about these guests - then Frank Black comes out and plays a DJ song before DJ covers that Pixies tune Tame with Frank singing. Well that's cool, must be it for the guests. Nope, for the next 45 minutes tons of guests joined DJ on stage. Kyle Spence from Harvey Milk and Al Cisneros came on and off the stage as they pleased including a ten minute cover of a Neil Young song, Dale Crover, the aforementioned Johnny Marr, Kevin Drew from Broken Social Scene, Kim Gordon came out and sang/screamed the song Don't for about 10 minutes, Tommy Stinson from the Replacements, it was just stupidly awesome.

Atma got me interested, but Unreal Never Lived sealed the deal as one of the best heavy music acts of the past 20 years.

I don't actually wear much black that much, smoke weed, drink pints and pints of beer every day, or have long untamed hair. Come to think of it, I don't think many of the Doom Room members are like that.

it was a day to remember the first time i listed to it on the bus to work...I've had a few of these days that I will always remember, it started when my brother and I watched Iron Maiden's Live after Death video (actual video cassette) early/mid 80's, then the next moment came when I listened to metallica's master of puppets in 87 whilst waiting to go into the dentist; then in about 91, in a lunch break listening to Deicide on a friends walkman...then the last time was listening to Opeth's Deliverance about 8 years ago...and now YOB...

I though it was really cool that Tool took YOB on tour.
I wonder how that came about.
