Pontiak is great. I've always liked 'em better live than on record, though.

Anyway, we got snow bitches! SNOW!

It's 60 degrees here, wish we had snow instead. I hate Kansas.

Dude, it's like 60 here. In NYC. It hasn't snowed once. Fuck this winter.

I wish it snowed more here in Alberta. The wind takes it away too fast

BUT more importantly, I found my house keys after being at work all day. They were in my other jacket :picard:

I taught myself how to use layers in Gimp to make a stage plot for our Knitting Factory show.

Super basic stuff but I've been fighting the idea of photoshop for a while (outside of Lightroom) so this is kind of a big deal to me.

"No monitors needed for drummer" ... wtf? Without in-ear or monitor support shows are only half as fun... i think.. i want to hear the band when i play...

We ghetto fab the in ears for Ron. We'll bring some mics of our own,...set them up on the cabs then send em to a mixer with a headphone output. This is how we roll at rehearsals and he seems to get along fine.

Demo Tape Fuzz has arrived. After I ripped apart the pedlulboard for recording I will now reconstruct. Already keeping in mind the changes that the next few months will bring. Next step: a Wah. I'm going to treat myself to a cheap one and right angle daisy chains today. SO MUCH FUN!!

(btw I called in sick yesterday and the secretary at work actually talked me into taking another day off. "Dude, it's working out fine here. And it looks better if you're not sick for just one day." In a fit of paranoia I am somehow thinking he might be pulling this off to blackmail me or somehow fuck with me. He probably isn't though.)

Well, that's cool then. You mix the vocal mics in too, right?

Vox are just there for Communication with the audience, and for me to tell boring stories about bananas and NASCAR. We jam,...no vox unless I get a hair up my ass and scream some gibberish into the mic.

Got an SMS early today. :joy: I was asked if my band could fill in for a band that dropped their club gig. Thursday. Kinda short notice though, hardly any time at all to prepare for any show. If I can just get another noisy bastard to back me up we're good, but I have to prepare to perform as a duo with the drummer since the other bass player is engaged with recording an album for another band.

But... It's a small joint anyway so it will probably turn into a cacophonic noise/drone cauldron anyway. I'll just drop RotYrBrain and the looper pedal in it's own channel in the mixer and jam over that. Blast the hell out of the unsuspecting audience. Lure them in with improvisations and drown them in dronez.

You know, that's a PERFECT plan. When I was doing the load in for the first Fuzzifer gig, I finally came up with some words to that one song in the set list that actually supposedly had vox in it. Eight lines in all. All the rest was improvised on that, more or less dada. Oh, and there was a 'yeah's going for a good long eight measures, too, making up half of the chorus. Just like in the end of the Fairies Wear Boots. The audience bought that, too, right? You can always do that in one song, if You have the guts. Perhaps in two.

You don't always need words at all. Here, for example, the words are purely optional:

I'm so excited about the changes I've made to my board. I just need another OD or heavy fuzz. Leaning towards Rat.
