BF1942's always gonna be my favorite in the series (and probably my favorite game ever) because at that time there were no leaderboards, no unlocks, no profiles and comparisons, no points beyond what you earned in a match. And at that time, random players would actually talk back and forth during battles so the servers seemed a lot livelier. They'd heal and repair each other not because doing so yielded progression towards an unlock, but because without your teammates you were gonna get wrecked trying to defend/attack that point. That's all there was to it.Andrew wrote:After about 3 hours of BF4 multiplayer I've come to the decision that those games aren't for me. They're fun, but they're not really my thing. I think that with PUG style matches, winning isn't really about skill. When you're team is loosing then it's just going to stay that way.
I'll still play every so often, it's just not my bread and butter. I don't get why people play the same FPS/Sports/Racing games overandoverandover. I'm guilty of replaying my favourite games more than I should, but it isn't so I show off my e-peen.
I love MMOs though mostly because I'd take Co-op over Competive play styles anywayAchtane wrote:So goodLOCOPELAND wrote:@ 2:07

I might have to try that tonight. I made a new strength-heavy dude so I can finally go ahead and finish the game without worrying about staying around a certain level. It's SO NICE to be able to take hits instead of dying from mistiming a dodge.

So good.
In modern FPS games I just set my gear up with a gimmick, like how in BF3 I eventually resorted to only killing people with smoke grenades, or only attacking using C4 jeeps. It's how I wring replayability out of them, but it still only lasts for so long. I dislike almost everyone else in servers these days.
However, I still enjoy MMOs because I like seeing people's conversations in text form; there's something about voice chat that kills the immersion.
Yeah, that too.Andrew wrote:I love MMOs though mostly because I'd take Co-op over Competive play styles anywayAchtane wrote:So goodLOCOPELAND wrote:@ 2:07

I kinda wanna try Rocksmith. Any problems with lag or note detection?foomanfat wrote:Picked up Rocksmith 2014 and it is cool. More of a learning aid than a game, but still pretty fun.
On a related note, I just found out that I like a Deftones song a lot.
Yep. I see one every two or three days. I think if you're playing on PS3/360 you've got a better chance because of the higher population and reduced port nonsense required to get online running well.LOCOPELAND wrote:Vagrant....is that one of those crab dude things? I've yet to see one of those in my games.

Also picked up Guacamelee a few days ago.
Yeah the stealth in this game just feels natural, no special powers or tools, just caution and common sense. I usually end up blowing my cover though. I'll take a few guys out silently and then when I can manage the rest I just start shooting.Andrew wrote: Metro is awesome, I've had more fun playing stealthily in M:LL than I did in a lot of other action games. I also picked up the book shortly after playing it.
I haven't had any problems with lag or anything on pc, though I have heard of some on consoles.Achtane wrote:I kinda wanna try Rocksmith. Any problems with lag or note detection?foomanfat wrote:Picked up Rocksmith 2014 and it is cool. More of a learning aid than a game, but still pretty fun.

I read somewhere that it has trouble when you decide to slide instead of bend...or something like that.
