for practices/rehearsals, I swear by PZMs.

If you're not micing drums, I see no reason for a kick mic.

Also, if that thing above doesn't sound like Clive Barker's imagination I'm not interested.

Nah, tracking guitars, bass, trashcans and distorted vocals. Some low-tuned doom-sludge-drone. Was reading here @ the kick drum mics for bass and low end.

I'm hoping for some sort of drone-filter-synth on the Hellraiser puzzle box! Less fucking a concrete block, more cenobite party music.

only thing holding me back is the fact that i don't want to be torn into shreds by cenobites. :(

Tell us what it does, please?!?!?!?!?!

the only video posted is a circuit bent furby being ran through it so your guess as to what it REALLY "does" is as good as mine.

Oh the GAS. The GAS GAS GAS...

Sold my old SVT 3Pro... and now I've got an EQD Hummingbird, EHX Ring Thing and Subdecay Baby Quasar all ordered up and incoming. The waiting is, of course, the hardest part.

Gonna need to post to B/S/T to free up some cash for one or two other things...

EDIT: just added a TC Electronics Flashback to the incoming list. Ye gads. Somebody stop me!

I love my LoFi but it's more tedious, timing-wise, than any looper I've owned. Seamless loops take practice with that one.

Ha, aw shit. I guess I'll see. I just can't bring myself to read the manual for the RC20XL, that's the problem. I'm a lazy git.
Oh well, if it doesn't work for me, at least it looks cool.

any tips as far as timing? or is it just a feel thing?

Wow, that one looks mighty sharp!

It's really just a feel thing, possibly easier to adapt if you're not used to a standard digital looper. You'll notice a pause when the loop starts over, sort of a hiccup that fucks the timing up. It can be avoided by ending the loop recording a bit earlier than normal or on a different beat. It feels unnatural initially but works like a charm once you get the hang if it. The vibrato is awesome as well, super unique.

I use mine for noise/soundscape stuff and a Timeline for the standard, layered looping. Compliment each other very well.

ok, cool. soon we shall see! Both at the end of yer signal chain, huh? Ever send loops from the Lo Fi to the Timeline?
I'm just beginning looping, and something about the RC20 just isn't connecting for me. Maybe just practice and some time with the manual would do it, though.
Have you tried the Headrush? Any recommendations for a first looper for a space ape like me?

I've run the LoFi up front with interesting results but it generally sits right before the Timeline. They sound great together!

The Headrush is really nice too for a standard looper. Good functionality and sound quality and no issues with layering or timing. Plus GC's been selling 'em for $99 as of late.
