Trust me, I'm in my early twenties and know about life and stuff.
I get your idiot joke. But there are tons of dumbass old people, so why not be a smart young person? If age = wisdom, the world would look different. Thanks, Trump.

I think you misunderstood. You're dealing with some real grown-up stuff, and I feel a bit out of place commenting on the situation, but felt like commenting anyway.

I think that, mostly, I was surprised that you're only now truly discovering that life isn't fair and doesn't make sense in the way you want it to.

That’s not what I mean to say. It’s that I see zero possibility for change. And it seems like no one wants to do he work of making shit better. Mostly, it’s ‘yeah, people are ducked up, but whatcha gonna do... oh, the game’s on.’
I wanna rabble rouse; where the fuck are the rabble?

I won't speak for IM but I don't think it's that. That was just something else festering out of the unfolding of this thread. IM spoke more about 'sense of purpose' and the hard work he put in to attaining this did not yield that result. So it's not discovering that on the most objective level, rather, one specific 'arc' in IM's life.
For reference to Western Media, I liken IM to the Max Von Sydow character in THE SEVENTH SEAL.

Alternatively: I think my four year old knows that the world isn’t fair. But the idea that ‘growing up’ or ‘maturing’ is a process of learning to accept that is some cockamamie hegemonic neoliberal cuntfuckery that masquerades as common sense. What is the point of us if not to try and make it better?
Hence: frustration.

I’ll watch the clips, $hark. I’m angrily administering back rubs to toddlers.

By all means, do what you can to better what you think is wrong. I didn't say that you should accept things which, to you, are wrong, just that these things will always be there, and if you accept that, you will find it easier to keep yourself and deal with it without being disheartened, etc.
I'm sorta wasted but I hope that makes sense and isn't too low brow.

Systemic institutions aside, I wish more people could be as nice as the Carybara...they're so nice

Nah. I’m not railing against you. I’m just angry and pissing in the wind because I’m a Dad Dick.
Whoops, wrong account.

I think stoicism was the word I was looking for.

A friend recommended some Stoic stuff to me recently. He got fired the next week. No idea if there’s a relationship.
