I'm not either. I've played hockey since I was 6 and been a huge Flyers fan since I was born. But strangely I'm not missing it as much as I thought I would. I bought sports package to get fox soccer channel and have been following the EPL, Ligue 1, Champions League, and some Primiera. Haven't watched this much soccer since I was in 9th grade. I've always been a huge soccer fan but never watched it this much because there was hockey. So I'm happy.

I was happy to watch hockey in German.

Didn't know that Giroux was out with a neck injury though so I missed him out there.

Did some diggin and he is skating.

Anyone catch this?

Is it bad that I'm Canadian and don't really care for hockey?

About fucking time. Watching the Juniors just made me miss the NHL a lot more. Now to wait and see what the schedule will look like.

As a Ducks fan I'm pretty pleased with what's being reported about the CBA so far. Max contracts of 7 years with a plus one for your own players, salary can't go below 50% of the highest amount in a year. That rules out the insane Parise/Suter/Weber deals. It gives us a chance at keeping Getzlaf and Perry. And with the season back on we can at least trade them at the deadline if resigning doesn't look possible.

Yeah, I really had gotten used to no hockey and to be honest I wasn't missing it much. But then I started watching the juniors, and my god I want hockey back.

Thank christ! I've been following Seguin over in Switzerland, he's been a fucking beast, averaging a goal per game. I need the Bs back in my life. The Celtics are awful to watch, and the Pats only play once a week.

Apparently Brian Burke was just fired. Haven't even played any games yet and Toronto is already delivering the laughs.

This is a relief, I had nightmares of Barstool Bob trading Perry or Getzlaf to the Laffs for a package around Komisarek.

imo, burke was owed at least this season. 48 games over what 3, 4 months?

He has improved this team without a doubt.

While I'm glad to see the NHL back,....the league owes it's fans A LOT more than a throw away season.

Heavily discounted or even free GCL or Center Ice. End blackout restrictions so that those of us who choose to not watch cable TV still have access to ALL the games. As much as torrenting the games is convenient for me; there will be times when I can catch the games live; and I'd prefer that.

I don't know how long this CBA is for; but I worry that in 7 to 10 years it will be the same thing all over again. Players and owners bickering over how to split a pie worth billions of dollars; meanwhile working class fans get walked all over AGAIN.

I love hockey and I love the NHL; but their work is not done if they expect fans to come flocking back.
