Ancient Astronaught wrote:Really? Hmmmmm I love the neck pickup in my baritone jag but the bridge pickup is a bit lacking, and Skully's comment on their tone right above this sounds like just what I'm looking for. I was considering this but had never heard of one in a baritone.... would just need a pickup ring for it.... or i could order the GFS one that mounts normally...
You guys ever tried the Fender Enforcers that come loaded in the Pawn Shop Mustang Special? I've always LOVED the WRHB but those Enforcers are SICK! A little smaller in size but way bigger sound. They also offer the option to coil tap or go series/parallel or both. Not sure what all they're loaded in beyond the Mustang Special and the John 5 Tele but I'm thinking one of the many HB loaded Jags has 'em.
Don't let the high output throw you either. They're crazy spec-wise, like 21k, but they don't sound all high gain and compressed. Rather, they're wide open and articulate and they LOVE the fuzz. Very similar to a Maton I own with "Homme"buckers, also super high output, but somehow vintagey in sound and feel. I think the hight output is provided for the tapping/splitting/series/parallel options mainly.

I'll have to look into those Enforcers. Not like I have a guitar to put them in anymore, but hey, that sounds badass!

A valid excuse to get yet another guitar.

It's a '59 Junior
Someone stripped it, routed it for humbuckers, put in a Tuneomatic ...
Well, you work with what you have, right? It's a great wee guitar though, and with the Skatterbranes and old tone caps it sounds killer. Doesn't weigh anywhere near as much as a proper LP either. I'm liking it.

With its older sibling.

That's crazy. It looks great though, and those '59 necks are supposed to be fantastic. I bet that's a fun one to play. I dig the finish like that too.

Still mad sexy, but it's a shame someone routed a jr for humbuckers.

As in, "Damn that gravel's sexy." Or as in, "You're laying your awesome guitars on gravel and rocks!"
