No real Surprise here.

[QUOTE=warwick.hoy]If raising awareness of this "Citizen Occupation" movement; which is a social and cultural movement as well as a political movement and being consistently ignored by the mainstream media (unless violence is involved) nets a 4 point infraction and the threat of a banishment; then I'd say it is worth it.

Ban me if you feel I deserve it,...but I didn't disrespect anyone or anything other then the over-moderation and nerfism of TB TOS.

Best Regards
~James Hoy

[QUOTE=Pacman]Dear warwick.hoy,

You have received an infraction at TalkBass Forums.

Reason: Repeat Offense: Rule #3 Violation: Off Limit Topics
-------
Posting a link to a political cause is politics. You know that. Are you just trying to get banned?
-------

This infraction is worth 4 point(s) until it expires. Infractions listed on your profile are only visible to TB Mods and to you. Multiple infractions issued for repeat violations will result in increasing penalties, including temporary and permanent bans (even if expired, per mod discretion).

You won't find much mainstream media coverage but anybody following this?

I'm gonna refrain from any political discussion,...but people are waking up.

All the best,

Did I violate TB TOS? Probably,...and to be honest,...I'm not really that bothered by it,...but the fact that the moderator in question is securely employed by the government and was comfortably stationed in Japan and seems to live a relatively kush lifestyle,....I wonder how threatened he is by this Citizen Occupation movement.

Just smacks a little too close to censorship IMO.

This isn't just a political movement,...it's a cultural and social movement,...a call to shift priorities both internally and publicly and as I said in my RE:PM if a 4 point infraction and threat of banishment is what I get out of raising awareness of a large and overlooked demostration,...then it is worth it.

Every time a person refers to something as censorship in relation to a non governmental or non journalistic entity *insert higher power of your choice* kills a hot amputee. Stop it.

I don't think any of the mods really care about the social implications of the postings.
Plus, all things considered, it's pretty hard to get outright banned from TB.

I think I might have just got a whiff of Spaceritual-esque inspiration. Or at least, a new goal.

I mean, you can do it. I did it. By accident.

However I'll grant you temporary forgiveness for hating happiness (and the last three HOF albums) if you post an old school SSSSSSSSSPPPPPPPPPPPPPAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTUUUUUUUUUUAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLL

over yonder.

Yes yes,...that's why I didn't say it was outright censorship,...yes TB isn't a democracy,...or a republic,...it's an oppressively over moderated nerfised bass forum that I'm caring less and less about.

Look I never expected that thread to stay open long and you can disagree with the ethos or believe that the occupy movement is a flash in the pan but if I've made at least one more person aware of a demonstration that is being largely overlooked by the media (or at least the media only took notice when cops turned violent); if I've made at least one person aware that they aren't alone in their fed up-ness with the lack of meaningful reform in the way this country is governed; then I'll gladly accept a TOS infraction. Believe me; TB infractions and potential b& hammers are the least of my worries.

Packard is one of those mods who noob as well as OG TBers consistently suck up to and brown nose. I'm sure he is a nice guy IRL,...but I'm not one to kiss his ass. I wish him no ill will,...but he and I have butted heads in the past,...the only difference is that he some sort of psuedo-authority on TB.
