re Gristliezer: Ummm, sort of. the VCA half of the circuit is the quirkiest tremelo you've ever heard, basically, and it's got some weeeeird resonances for sure. The first thing you hear there is the DC and the Grist's clock noise in combination.

The JustNick demo does a really good job of explaining it if you can extrapolate it out to the sonics.

it's a modulator modular guitar by shergold, an offbeat london based company that only built stuff from the mid 70's till the early 80's. they were used alot by joy division, mike rutherford and mbv used them too if I remember correctly. Very well built, versatile guitars that are still somewhat affordable today whenever they come up.
