I don't think that's actually the singer from creed. Also, I like Underworld--total sucker for monster movies. Re: Raging Bull/etc. I think that's a much more compelling story than the Serious Man/Job-style stories; If the protagonist is actively bringing along their own self-destruction, that's one thing. If bad shit is just happening to the character for the sake of it happening, it's a strikes me as a boring pile on.
Godfather being boring is incomprehensible to me. I DON'T UNDERSTAND YOUR BRAINS!

Overly long for it's actual story, would have made a great 15 minute sort though.
But I really get bored with the whole pseudo intellectualism thing, just because you make an art film about math does not make it good or intelligent.

I don't know if I'd consider Pi an art film.
Also, just about to put on Burn After Reading.

Gotchya. I've definitely sat down for movies thinking I was going to like them a lot more than I did. Pulp Fiction is one of those.

I have Pie on my computer but I haven't watched it in years. It was a very slow, heavy film with a lot of symbolism. I should watch it again. I enjoyed it.
How about an overrated director? Ridley Scott. He's one of my favourites, but he's made some really shit movies.

I really liked the newer "Girl With the Dragon Tattoo". Yes, the original films and novels are great, that doesn't mean the new one is shit. The characters arent the same, but they're acted better. I think at least.

that's weird. i fucking HATED the OG movies. Lisbeth was pretty awesome, they gutted every other character. but i adored the books and seeing all these gutless versions of the peoples i'd just read bummed me out.

Any big budget horror/zombie flick.
Just what I want to do for 2.5 hours. Sit there with my heart pounding waiting on something to startle me. Fuck that noise.
Movies in general are stupid to me; there are a few that I like no doubt,...but I'm always exhausted by the end.
About a minute after a movie starts I'm ready for it to be over. Maybe it's an attention span thing.

The mere mention of 'O brother where art thou' makes me mad. Coen brothers piss me off fairly often when they do comedy, what with their glorified quirkiness ( most of that movie is just ridiculously absurd grandiosity, and not in a good way like in 'In Bruges', but in a really simple albeit try-hard manner.
I do love their dramatic stuff though.
