I'm over this series,...just put us out of our fucking misery so I can focus on archery. I don't give a fuck about no sympathy fucking game 5 win then a loss in game 6. The Devils are outworking the Flyers in every category,...there hasn't been a single game in this series I've been able to stand to watch all the way through.
I don't want to come off as a bandwagon fan. I love my Flyers through thick and thin,...but after the high of handing the Penguins their asses,....this series is painful to watch. The Flyers are better than how they are performing and G's move on Zubrus was chickenshit. I understand he was frustrated with the Ref,...but if your pissed,...channel that shit into scoring a goal,...not putting your shoulderpads into some dudes face.
Defense is winning this for the Devils (at least the little bit I've seen) and the Flyers got nothing. I'd be hella surprised to see them even force a game 7 let alone win this series.

I like that it repeats. You can focus on a different area of the ice each time and think about all the other things he could have done. That's not even going into the fact that Bryz shouldn't have been given the puck there in the first place.
Seriously. Don't pass the puck to your goaltender. It's easy. Especially not when there's a forechecker coming in hard and there's plenty of open ice.

Draft Day bump.
The Ducks picked Lindholm at 6 who some experts argued would've been available later on but then those same experts argued that the draft would be all over the place after Yakupov at one so not sure what that's worth. (Confession: I love reading all the prospect bios detailing bloodlines, NHL player comparisons (poor man's XXX!!!) and the boom or bust label.) He's set to play in Sweden next year. Was kinda hoping they'd grab Forsberg and that he'd be able to play with Koivu/Selanne, but stocking up on D prospects isn't a bad thing. Especially not with that Schultz kid sneaking off into free agency somehow.
Visnovsky got traded to the Islanders for a 2nd rounder in '13. Not surprised he got traded (35 years old, bad season, not good defensively and a 5.6m cap hit) but I figured they'd get a young player in return as there's still plenty of holes to fill. Murray has said he's not cutting payroll and will spend the money elsewhere. At least he managed to piss off Bobby Ryan so he now wants out to Hoy's Flyers. I don't get wanting to trade Ryan at all. He's a 25 year old power forward who has 4 straight 30+ goal seasons, and a decent contract (5.1m per for 3 years). Getzlaf and Perry being in the final year of their contracts doesn't help, Koivu is old as is Selanne. Ryan is the only good forward who you know will be there after next season.

I really don't get why the hell the Bruins selected Subban. Yes, we're going to trade Thomas, but we also already have Rask, Khudobin and just signed Svedberg last month. This was our only pick in the top two rounds, and we use it on yet another goalie? We need some fucking offense already.

Because it's fun to have brothers on rival teams? In terms of what was available it did fit the whole 'we take the best player available' approach as Subban was the only highly touted prospect left at that point (for whatever that's worth). And considering what teams have been giving up for 30 career start backups you can always trade him later to fill a need.

i don't think we'd trade Thomas, but i haven't been paying much attention. and I read that Subban is a few years from being ready anyways, so maybe it's just future planning?

Thomas waived his no-trade clause. Because it's a 35+ contract his 5m counts against the cap regardless of him playing or not. Good chance a cap floor teams trades a conditional draft pick or 'future considerations' so they reach the floor. His actual salary is 3m, so even if he decides he likes the new team and wants to play that wouldn't be a bad thing for the team getting him.
Subban should take a while yeah, most goalies take a few years to develop. Carey Price was fairly young and did well at first then got slaughtered, same with Steve Mason, though at least Price bounced back while Mason is a wreck.
This is the Ducks' 4th round pick, Kevin Roy, who is undersized (5'8) but at least he has some shoot out moves, first one is him at 13 years old.

Considering the fact that Thomas said he's sitting out the year, and as Haki said, he'd ding our cap number even if he doesn't play, I don't see how the Bruins could NOT trade him. They pretty much have to. The fact that he agreed to wave his no trade clause more or less seals it that this was all just a way for him to force his way out of town.
I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for how awesome he was in the '11 playoffs, but he really is one hell of a flaming prick, and I'm not gonna miss him. I'm ready for Tuukka Time!

Well; I hopped on the NHLTorrents site. Glad to see that my account is still active. I looked in to see which team Claude Giroux was playing for; which is Eisbären Berlin for the Deutsche Eishockey Liga and am downloading the last game they played. I miss hockey; badly. So; I'll just have to see if I can stand watching hockey in German (a language I hope to learn at some point). Has it come down to this?
Word on the street is that one can suspend their optimism for even a half an NHL season. I don't give a fuck about which side is right or whatever (I typically side with the players during labor disputes; they are the ones that work hard and have 10 year long careers followed by a lifetime of nagging injuries). I hope the league can recover when they do hit the ice.

There was a bunch of bullshit last week. Don't look too much into it unless you like being angry.
Fuck the NHL. Burn it down and rebuild.

Too late; whatever. I don't give the league any money anyway. Unless I want a Jersey or something; which I don't.

I'm not missing it as much as I thought I would, except for the March trip to Anaheim I was planning to see Teemu one last time.
