Then I would probably just go with the GFS, its unmarked so it would match the neck pickup and is standard humbucker sized and 2 bolt mounted. Plus it's only 30$.

I just bought one for my project! Waiting for shipping now, but I'm really excited. They look nice.

That Casino And That Lapper. (Glad you finally found a semi-hollow that you like Tom! That thing is killer I bet. MIJ Epi's from the 70's are crazy awesome, yeah?)

You can actually buy them, but they are pricey and usually have the primer removed. To make them you gotta cannabalize some crap knobs for the center sleeve, bandsaw shells to a nice width, fill with epoxy, find center drill it out to fit donor sleeve and laminate. Check out that telecastor website: www.tdpri.com/forum/tele-home-depot/234 ... knobs.html We all know how much tele players like guns....

If you can get your hands on some 20 ga, they are sometimes made of brass...

This guitar is exactly what I wanted. Super good compliment to my Jazzmaster, similar neck feel and I didn't have to change any EQing on my amp or pedal board, it took to them both splendidly. It came set up almost perfectly out of the box, all I did was drop the saddles a bit to get my preferred action. Plays super smoothly. The pickups are better than I expected them to be, very defined, and chimey. Tneck pickup is pretty dark clean but shines when you add a little FUZZ . I'm still playing the 9's it came with but I imagine it will be even better when I bump up a guage or two.

Yeah, that's one beaut of a lappy. :thumb:

Do you do commission / commercial work or is all your stuff strictly DIY?

This is my second lap (and my third guitar) but I expect to make one or two a year on my spare time. I will probably put some of them in the buy/sell to fund other projects. If everything works out I hope to make a bass lap with a built in dirt circuit....maybe some sympathetic droney strings too....something a little crazy....
