If he has UK citizenship, he has EU citizenship has long has the UK hasn't legally removed from the treaties, which would allow him to find another citizenship within the EU relatively easily.chrisdermo wrote:I really wouldn't pin any hopes on life in the UK being a significant improvement over the US.D.o.S. wrote:British Citizenship by Double Descent (1981 S14(2) Crown Service)

I do understand. I don't think you understand that you are contradicting yourself in every post. In one breath you say the US has no business being in Norway, and in the next breath you say you need our help. Well you can't have your cake and eat it too. Also, your anti American rhetoric is tiring and not needed on a gear forum. Why lump all Americans together and call them stupid and cunts? You do realize that our population is about as diverse as it comes, dont you? Does that really seem appropriate? What's the difference between your hate speech and someone calling black people niggers or gay people faggots? Hint: there isnt.

Isn't it all still up in the air about how British citizens living in Europe will be dealt with post-Brexit? I sincerely hope the free movement of people is maintained, in which case yeah, the British citizenship is still pretty useful. I still have a glimmer of hope that Brexit won't happen at all.Disarm D'arcy wrote:If he has UK citizenship, he has EU citizenship has long has the UK hasn't legally removed from the treaties, which would allow him to find another citizenship within the EU relatively easily.chrisdermo wrote:I really wouldn't pin any hopes on life in the UK being a significant improvement over the US.D.o.S. wrote:British Citizenship by Double Descent (1981 S14(2) Crown Service)

Re: Which liar will you vote for???
UN: There's no contradiction in UC's posts. He explained to you why Norway was in NATO, and that's it's essentially a blend of a trap and being press ganged into it. His position is that no matter how unpleasant that situation is, alternatives are non existent or unavailable to his country at the moment. Basically, he would if he could. He can't, so he won't. But how should that stop him from posting how fucked up the situation is and to deplore the influence of the US's foreign affairs with Russia, and how Norway is dragged into it for the sole reason they're geographically close to Russia?
As for how you described UC, it's at best sophistic and misinformed. He cares because he loves.

Also calling someone stupid != using words that exist solely for oppression and hate. I don't get how you make that point with a straight face.

I am banking on a similar hope. Plus I have other reasons to move over there beyond our newly elected discarded salami casing, this just speeds up the timeline a little.chrisdermo wrote:Isn't it all still up in the air about how British citizens living in Europe will be dealt with post-Brexit? On the brighter side: we (as a state) legalized weed and implemented ranked choice voting, so I'm proud to live where I live (at least at the local level)

Re: Which liar will you vote for???
It is but I doubt a minimal agreement won't be found for all the UK citizens residing elsewhere in the EU and vice versa, because higher legal principles will render the treaty unenforceable otherwise, namely the ECHR convention, EUFRC, UHRD at UN level, and maybe even some constitutional rights at UK level could be at play. That's what's really funny about the situation. No one in the UK realized it wouldn't happen overnight and IMO it's at best an 8-10 years process.chrisdermo wrote: Isn't it all still up in the air about how British citizens living in Europe will be dealt with post-Brexit? Going against the intent of the alliance I don't appreciate.
This is not contradictory. To point out that something is fucky within an alliance whilst still seeing the benefit of the alliance is not contradictory. If you were under attack, we'd come to help you. If we are under attack, you'd come help us. You know, being a defensive alliance;, the way NATO is supposed to work? Right now, we are not under attack, but you're still here. See how that's a little fucky?
I did not say "the American people", I said "the US" (personification). Same way you can call citrus fruits sour even if there are sweet oranges around. Don't twist my rhetoric around and compare calling out a system's ideology to individual slurs. Instead, try focusing on the fact that you don't know how international politics work.
