I agree and disagree.
The first time it ended was probably what SHOULD have happened. it was so sad though. the whole anime got really dark after the first 2 episodes. It was really lighthearted for a while, but it turned completely around on that. that being said, I enjoyed it, and part of me is glad they ended it on a happy note. He went through too much shit with her for it to just end like it did the first time.

yeah i tried to get my girlfriend to watch it but she was all "SHE'S DEAD AND THEY CAN'T HAVE KIDS SO WHAT'S THE POINT?!?!?!"
but now I'm anime-less. Just in time for a shit load of summer semester work. fuckkkk

Well..yeah...
The more I think on it it is very much the 2D girlfriend/wifu thing put into a ghost story setting... Yeah I know there are plenty on non-anime/manga stories just like it.. but in retrospect... I hate to say it but I think we are getting to the point where over catering to hardline otakuism and fan service are getting in the way.. very few anime i have watched in the last few years do not fall into this hole and I think it is sad because what you are not seeing is the really really good stories that bend your mind but cliched rehash. this anime was good... for this season... but I really don't have much to say about this season over all... MGX was ok.. but I read the manga so i know what is going to happen before it happens so... meh... Lupin sure! but... that is like sherlock holmes to anime... no matter what they do it will be classic.. They need to start taking chances again!

So pissed. Watched season 1 of The Sacred Blacksmith, and then... there's no more... They left it off right in the middle of the story...
Watched Hero Tales recently also. It was whatever.
Now watching High School of the Dead. It's entertaining if a bit tasteless. That's ok though for the subject.
