I'm at the christian emo show. I'm at the shoegaze show. I'm at the combination christian emo and shoegaze show.

Yup, Brian was awesome! Talked to him for a minute down at the guild. Still going to be a wait probably, but there is hope, hahaneonblack wrote:Brian has a No Memory at NAMM. Won't be long now...
Umm..I think I got a picture of it...Diamond Booth is right next to the Lightning Wave booth...Diamond actually had some really nice looking stuff...never really paid attention to them before (but as hanging around the area).echorec wrote:Has anyone shared the Diamond Comp SL? I can't paste the pic because I'm on my iPad.

haha maybe I won't take acid at NAMM.. thx for the write up; stoked on the lightning wave and lifeforms stuff.lordgalvar wrote:Umm..I think I got a picture of it...Diamond Booth is right next to the Lightning Wave booth...Diamond actually had some really nice looking stuff...never really paid attention to them before (but as hanging around the area).echorec wrote:Has anyone shared the Diamond Comp SL? And on to the long winded LG style report!
1. Lack of Ring Mods! Closest thing was the electro faustus guitardammerung....it sounded like an awesome oscillator trying to track your signal and kinda theremin mixed with env filter and drysignal. He showed it to me with the CB Echorec and it sounded awesome (kinda like that magic when you put a flanger in front of a delay). Couldn't really hear the ring mod aspect because of the ambient noise (man, everyone thinks they are neil pert and victor wooten).
2. Electro Faustus discontinued the strangulator...Awesome, nice guys. Really liked chatting with them.
3. At times I thought I was on the sunset strip...didn't know corsets and top hats were still in style.
4. Praise and Worship is a bigger deal that I could've imagined.
5. EQD was super popular (and it was a nice booth design).
6. Lightning Wave's stuff is amazing...I kinda just wanted to kick and make custom wave forms.
7. Moog is back into individual modules...there were two full all moog modular setups. Look like 500 series to me. Lots of stations with 4 mother 32s chained with headphone amps...and other companies modules to play with...that there is confidence!
8. There was this neat place where all the little modular companies all gathered and got one booth. Really freaking awesome sounds coming from there...but lines and tons of traffic like the moog booth.
9. Dave Smith Prophet 06...man, that thing looks awesome. Great size and it speaks to me...but lines.
10. I don't know if some companies are as big as the think they are or are bigger than I know (like Big Joe)...but they had large booths.
11. Kay guitars had some interesting stuff.
12. Reverb booth was one of the neater ones....and they had a mosrite ventures bass.
13. I didn't know that so many saxophones and traditional string instruments were needed.
14. Custom guitars are still, for a lot of companies, stuck in Steve Vai Super Strat land....oh, Walnut flame top with super distortion head stock! Eh...maybe when I get my oakley frog skins back.
15. Jay Trussart guitars don't look as cool in person. I love the idea of steel, but some of them just weren't me I guess.
16. The Pittsburgh Lifeforms looks awesome and around the size of a mini brute keyboard.
17. The korg minilouge, though awesome, kinda looked run down or not durable or something...Something about it just kinda made the finish look kinda dirty?
18. Morley is releasing their pedals with a wireless option now. They had a wireless volume pedal at the show. Unplug the antenna, and it is a normal volume pedal. They are based 40 miles outside of Chicago now. I asked when they were going to bring back the old AC phaser and flanger...they didn't really know what I was talking about...and I was like "You know, from the Tel Rey days..." and she said, "Dude that was a long time ago...what products do you have of ours that are current?" and I was like, "I had a wah of yours like 15 years ago..." then she said "You know we make guitar strings now too". "Cool."
19. Keeley was in hiding....didn't feel like talking to "Hawkeye" about tone...avoided...dude had "Hawkeye" on is name card (yes, the name was printed with quotes)...just weird...
20. Empress stuff looked nice, but yea, kinda was getting pushed away by people with more questions ("So what does delay do?")
21. The owner of Red Witch was a really nice guy...he thought he knew me! haha.
Going to get back to the big manufacturers tomorrow...kinda kicked it over at lightning wave. Those three pedals were amazing. His new knobs that are lit with led lights, change color, and turn on and off with a swipe are freaking awesome! Really impressed! Seriously...drawing waveforms and watching a complex step sequence programed on the fly was awesome (and they all sounded great). Phaser, Trem, and filter...(watching the neat waves on the oscilloscope was)
More when I think of it....
