Moving my noob modular questions here. :p

Part of me wants to make my first set up a slightly more expanded version of this, with a noise and a delay. Any opinions on the Pittsburg Modular Synthesizer Box?

Any obvious rookie mistakes? I just want a simple starter set which can get freaky. I'll probably get a bigger case though, obviously. and a PSU to match.

I would suggest maybe ditching the scifi for another oscillator + a small noise module since I don't feel like you really have enough sources to get full use of the ringmod without tying up a lot of your modulators. If you really do want ringmod though, you can get the Make Noise Moddemix which can pull triple duty as a vca and a mixer too and has a smaller foot print and price tag. A multiple is also a good idea if you don't plan on getting the tip top stackables so you can hit multiple parameters with the sequence or the lfo. Since the goal is to get crazy I'd also consider substituting the Doepfer with something like the the sounds of shadows and picking up a weirder modulator like the Make Noise Function

you don't want the a188. It sucks. I had one.

Okay, I can now see why people have the enormous walls of modules. :snax:

Ooh, it would be awesome to use this on synth toms while having a steady bass/snare going on for some pseudo polyrhythmic jamming.

Add the "www." back.

@Inconuucl: looks like a pretty awesome starting system. Make Noise doesn't make the modDeMod any more so unless you can find it used you probably won't be able to get one. That being said, I believe that it was just replaced by the modDemix. Also if you want to get freaky, check out Ieaskul F. Mobenthey modules. Such weird but fun modules. I love my Sprott and Fourses and am dying to pick up a Dunst.

@aen: never stop posting modular stuff, dude. I'd love to get my hands on the whole Dwarfcraft line of modules. My rack desperately needs a Great Destroyer

Edit: Inconuucl beat me to it:

You have to put the www. out front apparently
@tuj: How do you like those Frequensteiners? I've got an offer to trade my MMG for one

wheedywhizz over on the Muffwiggler forum is building it for me. One of a kind case as this is the first time he has built an 18u case with walnut cheeks. My baby is the big girl on the left in the top picture. Excited to have all my modules in one case.

Post the shit out of those videos. I highly recommend everyone watch Aen's DWAGMIMS series. Highly informative for beginners, and super entertaining for the rest of us. Everyone wins!
