That last jawn cracked me up.

Benny I'm with you on the one bass stable (two at the most more then that and you're just showing off).

P-Bass = Typically all plastic pick gaurd
J-Bass = Typically has a chrome control plate.

Jazz on Left; Precision on the Right.

Oh and apparently the strap button is at the 12th fret.

My name is Mudd wrote:The GC here in town has had an early 80's b 'n M T-40 hanging on the wall for about three months, but they want $400 for it w/o case 'cause it's "...vintage...". I'd love to get it but I'm not paying that price for it

I paid $380 shipped to Hawaii with a case off ebay. My first cost me $150 w/o case about 10 years ago.
If you really want it go in with like $300 cash (It is worth it!) I bet they will sell it to ya. Also plug it in and make sure everything works including the coil taps and phase switch. If it does not work quite right you could prob. get them to knock off a little more.

lulz. i dunno why, but the 12th Fret crack made me giggle like a grrLie getting her first full body tickle session.

yah. i appreciate it... but... i won't remember that. i have a hard time making even simple shits stick if it doesn't speak to my interests. SO with you on the 1 Bass Please thing. i want a second Dinger just like mine's just so if i'm going some place shady after practice i can leave one there and have one at home or to bring a 2nd bass to a show. if something happened to mine's right now i'd be fucked.

i DID go through a "gimme MOAR STRINGED THINGS PLEASE" phase for a hinute.... so i have three Dean Sixers (2 fretted, 1 'less), a Conklin 7 stringer and a MM Sub 5 laying around. the fretless is headed to Erukahlz soon as i get around to packing it up (i'm a lazy BITCH), but i really need to list the rest. think i'm gonna go a tad on the cheaper side on my CL just to get them out of here quick.

might pick up Maschine and look for a new home for my Electribe and Machine Drum. maybe. i dunno. do y'all have a hard time moving stuff that you don't use 'cause you're sentimentally attached to 'em?

Yup. I'm a sucker for trades though. If I have stuff that I'm not using,....I like to hang onto and use it for bartering purposes. If I get a bunch of money off a sale,....I do dumb shit like pay bills buy food with it.

FUCK BILLS and FUCK FOOD

I can go days without eating anything substantial and bills don't buy me pedlulz.

I do have a hard time moving stuff. Well...pedals are more expendable than guitars for me. I don't have a big stash of pedals that i switch out with the current board on a whim; I tend to sell ones I don't really use anymore. But I can't seem to get rid of guitars. I have four "lifers" and one old Kawai electric that has no value except to someone looking for an eccentric guitar. I'm never going to play this thing, I already have another sweet-ass guitar. And you can't even play it without dropping the tuning at least a whole step from standard.

But my dad gave it to me. I guess that's the thing.

My three basses cover the most ubiquitous pickup types, and one is strung with flats. Of course I'd only ever need one, but again with the sentimentality -- my first bass that my dad also gave me, modded to hell. The first bass I bought with my own money, also modded and the result of a refinishing (first ever) that I put a lot of effort into. And then the rare bass that I got an amazingly good deal on, works perfectly for me and that I'm enamored with. I can't get rid of them.
Not to mention the literal pile of instrument corpses sitting behind my amp. "One day I'll do something with this". Fuck, I have three pilfered bridges and a pickup cover sitting next to me right now. That shit is strewn all around.

For me, in regards to which should be kept, the instrument takes priority over the amp, effects and any accessories. You know, unless you have some sweet custom shit, that's hard to decide. Other stuff can be replaced, but personalized guitars and ones with sentimental value can't.

Even though in reality I could get by with one bass and a TAFM or somethin' :erm:

Yeah, that's what I hear. I seem to remember Fern Gully being kinda fucked up too, but it's hard to say since what I mainly remember is that awesome sludge song. We covered that already though.
Also, I cried when Littlefoot's mom died in The Land Before Time.
