I mean, let's be real here for a minute. The biggest thing that could happen is a lawsuit, which I doubt. Most likely it would be a cease and desist letter. That would only occur if and when someone actually turned him into the right place that owns the intellectual property and then they file with a lawyer. He may sell 500 units or more before that happens. This kind of stuff occurs a lot in the industry. So it would only ad to the value if he got that letter.

If he gets a lawsuit, I doubt they'd go after him in the sense of shutting him down. The likeness of the Pink Panther has had so many unauthorized uses, that it just wouldn't make sense.

See Gojira using The Simpsons. No one cares and Matt Groening actually probably would be pissed. He's odd about that shit.

I sent the same info to a couple different addresses hoping it would get forwarded to the right peeps. I also added some info about the JHS background and how their reputation could diminish their property. MGM, the owner, has enough clout to force a cease and desist and also collect any profits from the use should they really wish to pursue it...which prob depends on how they view the future of the pink panther property such as new show/movie/etc.

it may not get any traction, but I'd also hope that people just would buy the pedal or JHS products n general...was reading that this panther pedal is just a diy circuit (the reboot delay?) they took and sold as their own, no surprises there.

Commence the JHS takedown, made possible by ILF speculators.

Matt Groening collected bootleg Simpsons merch for awhile (still does?), but Fox, on the other hand...........litigation?

Likewise, somebody (anybody?) please let me know if they see any Mary Tyler Moore-related pedals anytime soon

Old one.
This one's probably just another FV-1 circuit.

I'm not a big JHS fan but to be fair I think that's pretty common with pedal builders. Montreal Assembly Your and You're for example...

One of the first things Scott said about it was that it was a Crash Sync, though. :poke:
I'm pretty sure Josh is still claiming that the original Pink Panther was analog and that it was discontinued "because the chips became obsolete".

I'm not saying I think Scott did a bad thing. Just pointing out that "using a DIY circuit" is fine. Lying about it is different but I know nothing about that because I'm not very interested.

The graphics and the copying of shit is common. Mostly the graphics though. I see it happen constantly.

Maybe we ought to add this to our tourbox of shame with the Luck Duck pedal. :)

That is neat. It reminds me of the kind of 3D mice used for CAD work.

Flashback 2 and a new Roland synth? Not a bad Tuesday for gear junkies. I'll post some more videos of the SE-02, as they become available.
