...and the euro pog/whammy void remains unfilled. Fuck off with your clouds, phonogenes, rainmakers and echophons and just give me a god damn pitch shifter that's not a 6u patch-in-a-box for fuck's sake.Inconuucl wrote:Nothing new on usb/iOS controllers.I'm so dissappointed with the current offerings out there.

Have you looked into the QuNexus? I think you would really dig it.Inconuucl wrote:Nothing new on usb/iOS controllers.I'm so dissappointed with the current offerings out there.

I'm not sure if it was the current model or if it was damaged, but I wasn't too impressed with my brief time with one. That's why I've been hesitant to grab a new one, maybe as a birthday present to myself.D.o.S. wrote:Have you looked into the QuNexus? Video is mostly useless except for "Priced between $600 and $650..."Strange Tales wrote:New Elektron device annoucned, Digitakt. Seems to be a smaller replacement to the now discontinued Machinedrum

The expanded Rev2 lists at $1999, so I don't think Dave is too concerned with Behringer's entry into the synth marketplace. It's hard for me to see a synth pioneer with 40 years of experience being greatly affected by upstarts. If you were starting a synth company today, then you would have to be thinking about Behringer----but DSI already has their own built-in audience of professionals and advanced hobbyists.Strange Tales wrote:If nothing else, bless Behringer for forcing everyone elses hand in the market.

Well I thought it would be lower than it is, because he said they wanted to, "Add a bunch of features, at the same time lower the cost."Strange Tales wrote:I don't think it'll be sliced in half (what a dream that would be), but I thought it would be lower since Behringer made theirs so cheap. Guess DSI will continue to market as the "high-quality" stuff or something.

My friend works in SF as a web developer and makes over 6 figures and can only afford basic shit. I can't imagine a place worse than DC cost of living wise but looks like SF has completely shattered my expectations. Fucking tech bros.echorec wrote:Well I thought it would be lower than it is, because he said they wanted to, "Add a bunch of features, at the same time lower the cost."Strange Tales wrote:I don't think it'll be sliced in half (what a dream that would be), but I thought it would be lower since Behringer made theirs so cheap. ---Like I said, though, maybe in a year or three, they'll shave a couple hundred off when they've recouped some of their R&D money back.
As long as DSI is based in San Francisco, consumers we'll be paying premium prices for their products. That's one of the most insanely expensive (and criminally overrated) cities in the US. Even in a tamer market like Asheville, I imagine the janitor at Moog makes more dough than the floor manager at Behringer's factory.
