I like the Big Ben, it sounds more like a huge 12" and its a bit more raucous then the legend

actually have a 612 on the way it's ready as far as needing just tolex. It's not due till dec so I'm not rushing or anything. Plus busy getting some artwork done for 2 shows for that.
also building 2 cabs a 115 and a 212 that will be matching. those aren't due till dec as well.

I'm glad you're still burning strong!

It's 34x48x15. going to be loaded with Celestion 7080's. going to have internal baffles that will separate it into 3 212 cabs basically. all ran to one input.
Yea I've got some other possible orders but people need to come up with money before I start on those. I have one guy who wants 2 212s and a 212 115

Will have some photos of my full stack up ASAP.
Just stained one of the cabs today - looks amazing.
I'm going to finish it with wipe on poly, I ordered a bottle of tru oil but I'm too impatient and want to play through this bad boy ASAP.

awesome. never seen wipe on poly but how I've always used it.. it wouldn't work for anything I've done. I put together a head case for my crate gx130c since it was lacking one.

SLK, are all your cabs butt jointed? just curious, they look great. i thought i saw a pic recently of one that looked like it had dove tails or box joints or something, but i can't remember.
edit: i just looked back and those pics of the 2x15 that were the last ones you posted look like box joints. must be what i was thinking of.

box joints are super strong if done properly. Also take into account internal bracing - I know with the full stack I just did, that's the way I did it.
Dovetail can suck it!

the only ones that are butt jointed are the ones I tolexed because I'm actually putting them together like if it was cabinets for a kitchen with joining them with biscuits and about 6 additional screws through it. and that's before the internal bracing that I do on every build.
and like wildebelor said they are super damn strong if you do them right, they also automatically square up your cab so you don't have to knock shit around with the butt joined ones.
I only go through the trouble of the box/finger joints since it's showing and it looks very nice. Dovetails are also very nice but I would use them if I wanted to spend more time doing them and not put any internal bracing inside at all.
oH and the head
