I think it's a mix of the two. The NFL caters largely to morons (present company excepted, of course), so there's a bunch of PR involved in roster moves--say hi, Tim Tebow.
On the other hand, fans and front offices are much more forgiving if you're a good player.

You can think what you want but time and time again talented players are given far more leeway than their less talented peers.
I'm not saying it's right or that I agree with it but it's true in every major sport going back to High School and sometimes further.
It's the same mentality that allows jocks to get away with rape and not going to class.
If you read a little further into my post, I even give some examples.
Of course, I don't know how much logical reason to expect out of someone trying to get $600 for a Psych Byke.

I disagree, and you sound like a prick when the entire substance of your argument is just an assertion that the other person is "wrong"

Yes, you did give your opinion on what you think the NFL is going to do, but you didn't really cite any evidence or examples. He provided specific examples of people who have screwed up and gotten multiple chances to reform themselves due to their immense talent. And then instead of debating him or giving rebutting examples, you just say "You're wrong". Sorry, to me, that's BS.
edit:: I just want to clarify. I wasn't trying to attack you per se, I just don't find something like this: "im done reading right here. you're wrong" to be at all helpful in any discussion, unless it's a case of someone claiming that some scientific or mathematical fact is otherwise, like 2 + 2 = 5. But since this is a situation where we are predicting what other human beings are going to do, then it's ridiculous to just say "you're wrong" and expect that to be a valid thing to say, or to carry any weight at all.

blackmon is no longer in the league. he has to apply to reinstatement before next season.
if the jags had not invested so much salary, signing bonus and high draft pick in him, hed probably be cut. as it is, they have to hope that he does the right thing and gets his shit together.
due to the fact that he was already on the shortest possible leash, starting the season with a 4 game suspension and then having to drop constantly, and HE STILL FUCKED UP AGAIN, he has a massive uphill climb. roger godell does not give a fuck about justin blackmons YAC and 40 yard dash. ALL HE CARES about is the "wholesome" image of the league and the players in it
saying that "hes talented so everything you just said doesnt matter" after i write a fucking essay about the nfl and how it handles troubled players is not only completely wrong but equally as dismissive as me saying, "youre wrong, im done reading, because youre so completely wrong i'm done wasting my time"
and on that note,
PS comparing this situation to someone like suh is ridiculous. if you dont know why, then you just dont *get it*
a more apt comparison for justin blackmon is charles rogers. top 10 wr draft pick, former college star, got paid and started smoking crack.
pacman jones is one in a million and it took him years and years to rehab his image and get back in the good graces of the nfl

This is the only reason I mentioned Suh.

In my opinion Charles Rogers is not that good of a comparison. He had 5 average games then was out with injury for the next 27 games.
When he came back from that he was out of shape and didn't play well. He was then suspended for for 4 games and again didn't play well once he returned.
Once he got cut, he still had interest from several teams but wasn't signed do to poor performance at his workouts.
So far, Justin Blackmon has shown far more talent and hasn't missed 27 games due to injury.
He has also shown that despite his off the field troubles he can keep himself in "playing shape".
The other thing is as you stated, Charles Rogers "got paid and started smoking crack." which goes a little to my point of the NFL and GM's
weighing some drugs and some offenses more than others.
Blackmon entered rehab today and the Jags have already said they are not cutting ties with him.
In my opinion, he will be given at least one more chance and IF he can still play at a high level he'll remain in the league.

This situation has not played itself out yet. So you're making a prediction about what is going to happen. MEC made a different prediction, and you both have an argument. That's fine. But to say that he is WRONG is stupid. A prediction can't be wrong before the process plays out. You seem to be claiming to be arguing from some sort of position of authority. It just makes you look arrogant and makes me not want to listen to anything you have to say anymore.

I'm kinda glad I don't have to count on the Jags anymore lol
Yeah, I own Blackmon in my dynasty league, so that really sucked, because I was pretty much going for it this year. But it's not a total loss, since I can just keep him on my bench until next year.
the shield doesnt play, man. i wouldnt count on blackmon playing in a regular season nfl game ever again. this is NOT his first time...
that's a prediction? "i wouldnt count on" something isn't a prediction to me. maybe you should stop taking this personally because he's on your dynasty team? dude is a drug addict. statistically he's got about a 12% chance. whatever this whole "argument" is about at this point is fucking retarded anyway. good luck with your team.
good job making it personal though guys, how much i sell a one-off niche-as-fuck pedal for is really my own fucking business. using that in an argument about something totally unrelated is a bitch move. a bitch move like this is usually reserved for a) people who either can't make a decent argument or b) bitches.
so which is it?

The only reason I mentioned your sales thread was to show the possibility that you could be out of touch with reality.
I'm not alone in this thinking:

If that makes me a) bad at arguing or b) a bitch, so be it.
