You matched out a set of diodes and they still didn't work? Could it have been overheating during install? Ge is fragile.

I think it is my transformers (impedance stuff...I didn't run a preamp into the guitar side either, that usually improves things). These were some weird off ones...they could just be bad (they don't reject anything ). I guess I could have over heated them, but I haven't done that in a long time. I've got a second matched set and maybe I will try again with them.

A couple of them just crumbled and fell apart when I pulled them out of the bag. I got them at a junk store. All had a voltage drop of .69-.76 or something and the matched ones were 0.74 I think. They are probably 3x the size of a 1n4148.

1N3470 maybe?

Those voltage drops sound like silicon to me, though if a few crumbled they might have other problems. Will they conduct anything if you just feed audio straight through 'em?

I haven't tried/didn't think of it, haha. Will report back with findings (I thought the voltage drop was weird too...but I don't know).

I did have another set of ge that worked fine with a similar voltage drop (0.7 ish). They were radial too!

I just put away all my electronics stuff (trying to get my organization back so I can think again. Haha). Thanks!

Thanks for the heads up on that LG! I can't wait to try it! :) Seems like a jack of all trades!

That came up in one of my playlists not long ago! Pretty neat record.

I went looking for that record and cover on discogs a few months back....not the nice price! Haha.

Surprised I caught this image, as I'm usually just listening while soldering:

Also - apologies, the RMA Polybius is taking much longer in design than I intended. Way she goes..
