I'm happy the season is starting, and I'll definitely be watching every game I can, but my opinion really hasn't shifted since July:

That being said, fuck Danny Ainge in his stupid smarmy ass. He should have taken that fucking Philly deal, and I'll never forgive him for hanging onto these worthless picks. Holding out for a better deal is stupid when you have no leverage and everyone knows you don't want the pick. It was the 3rd pick in a 2 man draft and we had no play other than take what we could get. Instead he sat on his stupid thumb and took a worthless player that will be yet another undersized forward who can't shoot. Not like we haven't had enough of those guys in Boston the last 7 or 8 years.

Meh. Horford is a good player, but he's not a stud. He's not a big scorer and he's only averaged double digit rebounds once in his career. He's a good defender, but that wasn't really the Celts weakness last year. They needed a consistent scorer, and they still do.

I agree but I also think we're in line for a ~50 win season and a 3rd seed, which would be pretty fun to watch. Assuming nothing massive happens to the roster we're going to be a less-successful iteration of the 2015 Hawks come the playoffs.

I don't want to watch the Pelicans' dumpster fire ever but, yeah, that was quite a highlight reel.

yeah -- the brow is unreal. it would be nice if he could actually play 82 games in a season.

Regular season kicks off on Tuesday.
Kyrie Irving is my spirit animal because I'm a sucker for handles and he's top 5 all time in that regard, maybe. Celtics look killer as always, probably going to not be able to watch any of the games in real time because of the time difference.

I'm glad Danny finally realized that assets are only assets if you actually use them. I feel much better about this team than I did in previous years because he finally hanged his balls out there and did a couple deals. I find IT's comments hilarious, as if the Celts betrayed him after all of those "better back up the brinks truck" comments. Like dude, you spent a whole year talking about how your team was going to have to overpay the shit out of you, and then you get all butthurt that you got traded? Please.

He's always been a dude fueled by slights - last pick in the draft, traded for peanuts, etc. I feel bad for him, and he put up a season for the ages last year, but I also think that for Ainge it was a no brainer.
That said, because this is sports and duck being rational about sports, I was mega bummed about the swap even though I am a fan of Kyrie's game.

I don't feel bad for him at all. If you make comments like the brinks truck shit, you better assume that teams are going to protect themselves. Especially if you then get hurt.

I am still primed for The Brow to ascend to the next level and take over the NBA. Yes. I do understand that a simple search through this thread will show that I proclaim that year will finally be the year of the Pelicans and that every year I get embarrassed. But this year is different. As this IS the year that will be of the Pelicans. Boogie and The Brow. To the tune of Benny and the Jets. It works. This team will work. This is happening. Ron Paul style.

I’m full on the OKC bandwagon this season. Westbrook is the best player in the league. Adding Paul George and Mellow is going to be nasty.
I want new blood in the finals, more than anything.
