As I recall, this was when bigchiefbc wanted to test his "clean tone" through my amp. In fact, his "clean tone" was so powerful, my speakers just about busted loose from the cab!

I did try a few fx through jrmy's cab, and it was vibrating so much, it almost fell off the shelf. So then I shut everything off and went clean, and it was still rattling the hell out of that cab. The Ric is just a fucking beast, and it sounds weird when it's going through such a clean amp. I'm so used to Rics always being dirty.

my friend just bought a 73
white bass
nit sure of any other details
he got it for $350
but since he is legally blind
he didnt know the neck was twisted
so lets say the neck cant be straightened
what would be the next step
reason i ask here is cause chief is a ric guy
and it seems you are to jrm

Whoa, that sucks. I haven't had any neck problems yet (knock on wood), but Rics have two truss rods - apparently that can be a cause of twisting if one goes whackadoodle. Here's a thread from the Rickenbacker Int'l forum about it:

There's a place here in RI that used to have the rep as Ric specialists, but they sure as shit ain't cheap...

yeah, that does suck. Rics are neck-through, so you can't just swap the neck. It's possible the truss rods just need to be adjusted. It's also possible that it twisted because one of the truss rods broke. I've heard that Ric truss rods can be replaced, but I sure as shit wouldn't want to try that myself. I think it's going to need to be looked at by a tech that knows Rics one way or another.
