If it's tabletop: anything with momentary switches still makes sense front row. I had some stuff up on a second tier in an old board thinking 'it'll be enough clearance,' and it was. But it's hard to time press/release or make/break when your hand or foot is hovering six inches off the surface the board is resting on. Better is you can have your heel or the heel of your palm resting somewhere.

I'm not UC (
), but I favor those kinds of things on my dominant foot's side on the front row of a board.

Yeah I like anything that involves looping, momentary and tap tempo on the front when possible but i'm talking more about placement within a chain, not physical location.Invisible Man wrote:I'm not UC (), but I favor those kinds of things on my dominant foot's side on the front row of a board.

yeah I am not sure I understand where those "SHould" go in a chain,
I guess it depends on if you want to sample the effects or effect the sample,

Yeah, just looking for starting place suggestions since i'm bored... i'm sure i'll move them around as well as other pedals a bunch before i find what works for me. Sampling wise, i like them either very close to the front so i can constantly tweak the sample but if i want to play over it i want it at least somewhere after the modulation if not all the way at the end if i want to only change the loop on the pedal itself.hbombgraphics wrote:yeah I am not sure I understand where those "SHould" go in a chain,

As for the Judder, i'm assuming a good starting place is somewhere at the front of the modulation section after the dirt. Board realestate may have me putting it more towards the end of modulation though so we'll see what that sounds like first I guess.

I usually like the CT5 about middle of the road. That way I could use my Dream Sequence to sample a cleanish tone and the CT5 to sample some dirt and still be pushing modulation and at the end of the road is the Revolver to chop it all up.

so basically using the revolver like a slicer??
I need to watch some demos I guess

Re: Let's see your PEDAL BOARD!
Yea essentially! I had it in a few different places, found the setting I dig the most and keep it near the end of the chain. I also have delay after it as to me, it makes the most sense. I do like to spread things out a bit and will after I get a new board or redo the velcro on mine. It's a huge pain in the ass. LOL!hbombgraphics wrote:jwar wrote:I usually like the CT5 about middle of the road. So it kind of chops it or stutters it...glitches...etc. That pedal has a huge array of options.

I don't want to count but I am guessing that at least 5 new pedals have come out over the past 2 years where I commented something like "oh it's like a slicer" slicer is my reference point I guess.
Can you get a bigger board than the one you have?

Re: Let's see your PEDAL BOARD!
man... tell me about it. When i started playing i put the hard side of the velcro on my board and the soft side on the pedal only to find out later that it seems everyone(?) puts the hard side on the pedal and the soft on the board. I kept getting pedals where the velcro was on the wrong side (for me). I've kept it that way until my main board rebuild with a new board a month ago.... but then for the past month i've had half my pedals one way and the other a different way so i couldn't mix and match boards! Finally over the last 3 days i've redone every pedal i own and every board i own to be soft on the board and hard on the pedal. It was a PAIN to take that stuff off of everything.... BUT it is nice having fresh velcro on the boards without all the dust and everything else that gets stuck in those things!jwar wrote:or redo the velcro on mine. It's a huge pain in the ass. LOL!

Re: Let's see your PEDAL BOARD!
I thought about a bigger board, but getting one with more of a locking system so that I cannot switch things out as easily and it will force me to stay the same for an extended period of time. Knowing me though, nothing will stop me. LOL!!! The board I have is PT Grande size and I've yet to locate someone who is wiling to build me a larger one for a reasonable amount. I mean, I'd love to drop 400 on a board if I could commit to that, but it's not something I can do. I just can't. To me that's a gross misuse of money since I don't gig. I mean, I could buy a lot of cool stuff with that money.hbombgraphics wrote:I don't want to count but I am guessing that at least 5 new pedals have come out over the past 2 years where I commented something like "oh it's like a slicer" slicer is my reference point I guess.

Also, there are a ton of things that do similar things to the Slicer. What killed the Slicer for me was the output volume was too much. I could never get it to work the way I wanted. Also I hated that a ton of the coolest settings were stereo only and I don't run stereo.
Yea it sucks ass. I have the problem of getting shit in trade or sale that has the wrong sided velcro. At least if it's the soft side, I don't have to deal with as much cat hair...lol.Ruiner wrote:

What sucks about my board is that it's a custom and I'm not sure that I can just pull the velcro without fucking up the tolex. I need to look and see if 3M makes a dual lock type of fuzzy side I could use. That would be awesome.

OH! Shit! I just looked it up and dual lock is used for both sides! Didn't even realize that! I'm going to replace that shit ASAP!!!

Re: Let's see your PEDAL BOARD!
My board doesn't change much at all any more, and definitely not in terms of order. But I think you should start by working out if you want stuff before or after fuzz. Of course, you are on ILF so you've probably got an end of chain fuzz to destroy stuff etc, but in terms of your main fuzz sound. Then modulation - what do you want modulating what? Do it iterative in small blocks.Ruiner wrote:Yeah, just looking for starting place suggestions since i'm bored... i'm sure i'll move them around as well as other pedals a bunch before i find what works for me. Yeah, that's how I typically do it and it's usually pretty easy but with 22 effects in this chain (throw in a MA Fewtility to complicate / excite the situation) then it becomes a little more daunting. I'm fairly certain i'm just setting it up to fit nicely on the board right now with some thought about placement but ultimately i'll be moving things around quite a bit in a chain this long or separating parrallel chains with the fewtility.

the end of chain break everything fuzz is one of the best things I have learned on ILF!!!!!

Re: Let's see your PEDAL BOARD!
Or wire up a patchbay like you've mentioned elsewhere and don't worry about it.
I don't think there's a good answer to this; so dependent on your setup and what you want to achieve. I like a lot of rhythmic stuff, so I use the Ct5 at the end of my chain so that I can loop things, or chop super verbed-out stuff. Other times I've used it up front to create interesting phrases that I can effect later on with the BitQuest or Pitchfactor or dirt.
