i have not seen the us version yet but i will. i have no issue at all watching subbed/foreign films, but the guy that played mikael was so unlike the mikael i had envisioned while i was reading the books that i couldn't watch it.

i also have a total man crush on daniel craig so we'll see how the us version turns out. pretty indifferent on rooney mara/noomi rapace

Yeah the US version isn't out yet, but Im excited for it (mainly for the soundtrack admittedly, but Fincher makes great movies). I heard some people said the Swedish version wasn't dark enough?

Took the SAT today, and although I hardly picked up a studying guide, I think I did very well

I've never understood the obsession people have with studying for the SAT. Like the people who pay thousands for prep classes and stuff. I guess you have to know some things for the math sections, but the rest of the standard SAT is hardly something you can study for. And if you have a bad day you can retake it like 50 times and no one cares.

I went to Trader Joe's today and there was some sort of weird holiday concert/charity benefit going on outside. There was a fat bald old man dressed up as a Christmas tree dancing to the music. By which I mean, mostly bouncing up and down and waving his arms. It made me happy.

figured out that i could fix the problem with the leaking coolant system in the truck...the heater core, which is located conveniently under the dashboard where you have to take the whole fucking dash out to get to it, is shot, and i can't afford to replace it. i scoped the situation on the Net, confirmed it with the local auto parts folks, and ascertained that i can simply splice the heater out of the system by connecting the input and output hoses with a barb fitting and hose clamps. total cost for WIN: $8.00. i like to picture my Dad, who was an inveterate tinkerer, looking down at me and giving me the thumbs up.

I don't know what the hell is going on.

That reminds me of this time I was driving through the south bronx and had to take a piss , so i stopped at a k-mart. Walk in and there's a band playing comprised of pubescent mexican boys playing shred while their mothers watched and took pictures. It was a sight to see.

Wait, so the whole Trader Joe's benefit concert consisted of some weird old creep dressed like a conifer. Are you sure he wasn't just a homeless man who lives in the forest and stuck a couple branches on himself and thought he'd try to get some booze money?

Apparently, there was some kind of class action settlement over shitty charger cables for macbooks and since I bought a new one almost four years ago I'm entitled to a $50 rebate or something or another.

No no, so the Trader Joe's is on some main shopping street where there are supermarkets and rich people stores. There is a sort of open square outside the Trade Joe's and between two rich people stores. There was an actual live band playing jazzed-up Christmas songs with a little tent and some chairs for an audience and there was some sort of booth with people handing out fliers and asking for money. I don't know what it was for, as I kept walking when one of them jumped out at me and started their "would you like to make a small donation" spiel. But there was a man who was definitely dressed up in an expensive-looking Christmas tree costume. It had a face hole and lights.

Did some - what I call - Shotgun bidding on Ebay. Put a couple dollars each on like 40 pedals. One slipped through. Got a new booster for $3.
